فَأَبِّني عَوفَ الفَواضِل

Arise when the protector sleeps

Then bring me the best of men

عَوفَ الفَوارِسِ وَالمَجا

لِسِ وَالصَواهِلِ وَالذَوابِل

The best of horsemen and councils

Of weapons and forelocks

يا عَوفُ أَحلَمَ كُلِّ ذي

حِلمٍ وَأَقولَ كُلِّ قائِل

O Awf, most forbearing of men

And most eloquent speaker

يا عَوفُ كُنتَ إِمامَنا

وَبَقِيَّةَ النَفَرِ الأَوائِل

O Awf, you were our leader
