يا عامِرَ بنَ مالِكٍ يا عَمّا
أَهلَكتَ عَمّاً وَأَعَشتَ عَمّا

إِن تُمسِ فينا خَلَقاً رِمَمّا
فَقَد تَكونُ واضِحاً خِضَمّا
If you touch any of our manners seeking to mend them
You may become clearly outrageous
مُرتَدِياً سابِغَةً مُعتَمّا
مُتَّخِذاً أَرضَ العَدُوِّ حَمّا
Wearing a cloak, veiled, obscure
Taking the enemy's land as a sanctuary
