Our land wept when we were estranged
And our greeting was carried by the messenger clouds
The abode of the living when they all passed away
Today there is no one left in it to sleep
We refused that an echo would resound in it
After the sacred months had elapsed
If the living ones of Banu Jari
And Taiym Al-Lat had sensed, the white camels would have been saddled
With every heap of ashes and every deep sigh
The twilight of the fierce fighter disappears
And every cultured, gentle and hot-tempered person
His arrows are scattered over his tent
Breaking off from it the branches of Tarfa
Next to the rest stop, the soft sands piled up
