نصبنا لهم دهماء ذات هماهم

طويلاً بإفناء البيوت ركودُها

We set up for them tents with their worries,

staying for long in demolishing their homes, their stillness,

لها موقدان دانيان وواقف

يخاف أطلاع غلْيها فيذودها

It has two furnaces, close and standing,

fearing the rising of its flames, so it drives them back,

إذا صدرت عنها رفاق برزقهم

تعود رفاق بعدهم فتعيدها

If supplies went out from it to its comrades,

Comrades after them return to renew them.
