If today brings us joy in Yemen

    How many mournful days follow

When happy memories return in sorrow

Regret and longing storm the heart

On this day, two teardrops met

One for the dead, one for newborn

A tear flows for dashed hopes

Another for the Prophet's birthday joy

Dawn smiled for the birth of the Trusted One

Without him, the light of guidance wouldn't shine

    Without Muhammad, people still

Would worship each other, not seek the right path

His law eased disputes among his nation

The best people to God are those who make peace

Muhammad called the messengers his brothers

    Yearning for fraternity between religions

I weep for the false gods in God's being

And for every tear of every wretched orphan

And forgave those who wronged and hurt him

He freed the East from unbearable

Oppression and injustice, spreading his light

Had the West seen his call to compassion

It would've softened or restrained its rage

The age of ignorance is not my nature

Nor do I tread the path of religious zeal

After reflection, the evidence showed me

He is the best, most truthful guide

To me, all religions are equal

But my heart opened to the Prophet's creed

Religion is not dress or outward show

Or how long your beard or head-cloth flows

They missed the faith whose heads were wrapped

As their hands held prayer beads but shed blood

I fear groups where ignorance, not knowledge, thrives

And civilization's light in them has not shone

With their hands they destroy their homes

As conflict and division among them spread

With his guidance as their example

In faith and worldly deeds - Glory to the Giver

Hatred faded and their stubbornness declined

To moral virtue and pure, gentle ways

The Abyssinians once ruled, walking proudly

Heraclius tossed his crown away in fear

Prostrate before them, his throne overturned

They left a footprint in the sands of time

That later generations strove to erase

    Glorious ancestors, amazing descendants

From heights of glory to depths of disgrace

How did Islam fade into darkness?

When their faith was light, never extinguished

    Beyond counting, afflicted by calamities

The millstone turned on the gathered Muslims

Especially the Arabs - their age

Turned from them with scowling, bleary face

Oppressed slaves in their own lands

The hand of strife stirred conflict among them

Other nations shared out their lands

While they divided nothing but their graves

No tribe or people had power

Whose blood and wealth were not there to seize

Every people took part in shedding their blood

The tribes leapt up to pursue the wounded

Their complaints were the cries of slaughtered lambs

To the one who sacrificed and butchered them

Why did those who ruled a kingdom stretching

From Taurus to Rafha then deny them Oman?

As if their promises were only jesting

No wonder, their indifference bore consequences

The tribe that aggressed reaped the rage it sowed

Strange that the Lord of Najd is content

With the Closed Peninsula, nothing further opened

By God, if Mecca's Holy House gained him

It would still be a loss, no real profit

My reproach to the Arab kings is heartfelt

It meets only rage and contempt from their folly

And at your hands disaster constantly awoke

I blamed the Kharijites for plotting

To assassinate Ali and his companion

Seeing the Arabs' woe by your hands, I wished

God would resurrect the one who designed it

I say as tears fall and heart brims with sorrow

Oh Savior of Arabs and Islam, they now

Suffer under the oppression of nations
