1. ولستُ بهيّابٍ من الموت والرَّدى

    ولا فرق عندي طال أَو قَصُرَ العمرُ

    I fear not the veil of death or destruction

    The length or brevity of life are equal to me

  2. ولكنَّني أَخشى فراقَ أَحبَّةٍ

    كِرامٍ وأَسفار إِذا ضمَّنيَ القبرُ

    But I dread the parting of loved ones

    Noble souls and journeys when the grave embraces me
