وكانت إِجابتي لك زَلَّه

Astray was my thoughts on the feast day, O Fakhri

And my response to you was a slip

هذه الإِبرة التي قد بلعنا

ها (بدوما) رُدَّتْ إليكَ مِسَلَّه

This needle we have swallowed

O Badouma, has returned to you blunted
