Alas for the days of youth's prime,

How pleasant life would be if they lasted!

I lived happily in their shade for a time,

Intoxicated with the wine of youth's joy.

I would pick flowers from the gardens,

And drink the sweetest from the meadows,

Many a fair one told the tale of dawn,

Swaying coquettishly in the chill of youth.

    White as a precious pearl,

    Her breath scented with coolness,

Slender of figure, delicate of waist,

    Her back soft and tender.

Gentle of limb, swaying of hips,

Her brow shining like the full moon

When it rises on the fourteenth night.

    Her hair like flickering gold,

Her cheeks and breasts like ivory.

    Eyes green as emerald,

    Sparkling like topaz,

    Ever casting their magic,

    Ensnaring many captives.

    Her moles are dark musk,

    Capped with satin domes.

    Her cheeks flushed red,

    Her glances keen and bright.

    Her dimples have a sheen

    Like dewdrops on a rose,

Or lightning flashes over the horizon.

Her breath revives the swooning soul,

Like the scent of rain on flowers.

    Between her sorcery and slaughter,

There is an icy torrent, or flower petals white.

From there comes a scent so sweet,

    It stirs the deepest feelings.

As if her breast, which I would ransom with my soul,

    Were sunlight gleaming on water.

Her protruding breasts challenge and entice,

    Inciting desire and passion.

I saw her wrists and forearms

Strike sparks of love like flint.

    When her hand clasped mine,

    My heart fluttered helplessly.

    No hidden passion but stirred,

    No hidden desire but sparked.

    Her eyes spoke their magic,

How eloquent are eyes when they look!

Lovelier hands than hers for rest or touch

Cannot be found, softer than damask silk.

I thought to draw her to my breast,

Then feared to cast her in the flames.

Until her hands entwined in mine,

And breast pressed close to breast.

Our breaths grew short, hearts pounded,

    Veins pulsed, passions overflowed.

    Her cheeks flushed red,

    Her breasts heaved and trembled.

She sighed like one faint with rapture,

And quivered like one pierced with arrows.

    Her hand slipped from mine

Like a reveller drained of wine.
