هَذَا وِسَامُ المَجْدِ مَنْ يُجْزَى بِهِ

فَهْوَ الْخَلِيقُ بِأَنْ يَكُونَ فَخُورَا

This is the badge of glory, who should be rewarded with it?

He is the one deserving to be proud

كَمْ وَدَّ نَجْمٌ ثَاقٍبٌ لَوْ كَانَهُ

حُسْناً وَعِزّاً لاَ يُرَامُ وَنُورَا

How many a piercing star wished if it was

Beauty and honor not to be envied and light

مَنْ لِلْعُلى مِثْلَ المَغَاويرِ الأُولى

ظَهَرُوا عَلى رَيْبِ الزَّمَانِ مُغِيرَا

Who has the heights like the first adventurers

They appeared despite the doubts of time, changing

فَاقُوا الأَوَائِلَ هِمَّة وَشَجَاعةً

وَغَدَا المُقَدَّمُ فِي الزَّمَانِ أَخِيرَا

They surpassed the ancients in ambition and courage

And the foremost one in time became the last
