    with lofty import and beautiful meaning!

  7. It is the feast of the new generation; its memory

    will endure as long as generation follows generation.

  8. May God’s care preserve her, and may she grow,

    that goodness, all-embracing and abundant, may grow.

  9. And may her two august parents’ lot be

    a glimmer of His splendor through what He bestows.

  13. Today’s gift, after a thousand proofs—

    in it came a proof that fills the eye.

  14. Indeed, our Farouk is surely a sword and shield,

    a bulwark for the realm, a sun, and a Nile.
