1. بَسَمَ الثَّغرُ فِي مُحَيَّا الْوَادِي

    لَكَ يَا ابْنَ الأَعِزَّةِ الأَجْوَادِ

    The lips in the valley's cheeks smile

    For you, O son of the most generous and noble

  2. وَتَجَلَّتْ ذُكَاءُ تُوقِدُ زِينَا

    تٍ أَفانِينَ فِي الرِّيَاضِ النَّوَادِي

    And intelligence shone, lighting up

    The splendor of meadows in the valleys' pastures

  3. وَعَلَتْ نَغْمَةُ السُّرورِ وَرَقَّتْ

    جَأَرَاتُ الْخِضَمِّ ذِي الإِزْبَادِ

    And the melody of joy rose high and

    The warbling of the verdant thicket with luxuriance rang

  4. حَبَّذَا مَوْقِفُ الْقِرَانِ وَبَيْتُ اللَّ

    هِ يَزْهُو كَالْكَوْكَبِ الْوَقَّادِ

    Blessed be this occasion of meeting and the House of God

    Shining like a blazing star

  5. وَعَلَى إِكْلِيلِ العَرُوسَيْنِ قَدْ بَا

    رَكَ فَادٍ إِكْلِيلُهُ مِنْ قَتَادِ

    And on the crown of the two brides, a generous one

    Has blessed, his crown made of finest pearls

  6. فَأَعَادَ النُّوَّارَ أَبْهَجَ نَبْتٍ

    ضَاحِكِ النَّوْرِ فِي دُمُوعِ الَغَوادِي

    So he renewed the lamps, brought cheer to the smiling growth

    With light in the tears of the valleys

  7. وَالْمَصَابِيحَ فِي البَخُورِ كَأَطْيَا

    رٍ عُكُوفٍ جَمَاعَةٍ وَبَدَادِ

    And the lanterns in the incense like birds

    Circling in a group and separated

  8. أَوْ أَزَاهِيرَ فِي قَوَارِيرَ مِنْ

    شِبْهِ الْجِنَانِ الْمُعَلَّقَاتِ بِوَادِي

    Or like flowers in vases

    Suspended from gardens like those of paradise's valleys

  9. وَالتَّهالِيلُ وَالمَعَازِفُ تُشْجِي

    بِضُرُوبِ الإِيقاعِ وَالإِنْشادِ

    And the cheers and music provoke

    With rhythmic beats and melodious chants

  10. نَغَمَاتٌ تَزَوَّدَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ

    مِنْ صَدَاهَا لِلْعُمْرِ أَطْيَبَ زَادِ

    Melodies with which each soul stocked up

    The sweetest provision for life from their echo

  11. حَبَّذَا فِي الصُّرُوحِ صَرْحٌ مَشِيدٌ

    لِعَمِيمِ القِرَى كَثِيرِ الرَّمَادِ

    Blessed be in the palaces a palace erected

    For the general public of many villages

  12. حَسَنَاتُ الْفُنُونِ جُمِّعنَ فِيهِ

    مِنْ تُؤامٍ مُحَبَّب وَفُرَادِ

    The fine arts gathered in it

    From beloved doubles and unparalleled singles

  13. مُبْدَعَاتٌ تَوَافَرَ الذَّوْقُ فِيهَا

    بَلْ تَنَاهَى فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُجَادِ

    Creations in which good taste prevailed

    But exceeded in everything, always excelling

  14. ظَبَيَات فِي نُمْرَقٍ رَائِعَاتٌ

    وَرِيَاضٌ نُضْرٌ مِنْ السَّجادِ

    Gazelles in a meadow, delightful,

    And gardens, fresh with carpets

  15. وَتَمَاثِيلُ مَنْ رَآهَا رَأَى أَخ

    فَى دَبِيبِ الأَرْوَاحِ فِي الاجْسَادِ

    And statues - whoever saw them saw the most

    Delicate spirit breath in the bodies

  16. أَتْقَنَتَهَا أَيْدِي الصِّناعَاتِ حَتى

    لَيْسَ فِيهَا الإِتْقَانُ بِالمُسْتَزَادِ

    The artisans’ hands perfected them until

    There was no room left for more perfection

  17. وَأَتَتْ عَبْقَرِيَّة النَّقشِ وَالرَّقْ

    شِ ضُرُوباً مِنْ فِطْنَةٍ وَاجْتِهَادِ

    And the genius of engraving and decoration came

    With sorts of ingenuity and endeavor

  18. وَرَأَى الحُسْنُ رَأْيَهُ فِي خُطُوطِ الرَّ

    سْمِ بَيْنَ الْقَوِيمِ وَالْمُنَآدِ

    And beauty saw its view in the lines of the drawings

    Between the straight and the curved

  19. مَسْكِنٌ لَوْ بَنَوهُ تِبْراً لَمَا أَعْ

    لَوهُ قَدْراً فِي أَعْيُنِ النُّقادِ

    A residence, had it been built of clay

    It would not have been valued by critics

  20. كَبُيُوتِ المُلُوكِ لَكِنْ لَهُ أَلْ

    فُ مُوَالٍ وَمَا لَهُ مِنْ مُعَادِ

    Like royal palaces, but it has thousands of caretakers

    While those have no equals

  21. حَبَّذَا فِي رِحَابِهِ وَذَرَاهُ

    زِينَةُ الْعِيدِ أَبْهَجِ الأَعْيَادِ

    Blessed be its yards in which

    The feast's adornment, most beautiful of holidays

  22. وَتلاَقِي أُولِي الإِمَارَاتِ عَقْلاً

    وَنِجَاراً وَثَرْوةً فِي احْتِشَادِ

    And the gathering of the leadership in mind

    And carpentry and wealth with solidarity

  23. عِلْيَةُ القَوْمِ بَيْنَهَا فِي طَوَافٍ

    مَا تَشَاءُ المُنَى وَفِي تَرْدَادِ

    The elite of the people circulating among them

    However the purpose desires and back and forth

  24. وَرَدُوا مِنْ عُيُونِ تِلْكَ المَعَانِي

    مَا شَفَى غُلَّةَ النُّفوسِ الصَّوَادِي

    And they gained from the essence of these meanings

    What healed the sickness of arid souls

  25. وَأَصَابُوا لِحِسِّهمْ مَا اسْتَطَابُوا

    مِنْ هَنِيءٍ وَمِنْ مَرِيءٍ بُرَادِ

    And they attained for their taste what they found good

    Of pleasures and bitterness cooled

  26. وَتَسَاقَوْا عَتِيقَةً بِنْتَ رِقٍّ

    لَمْ تَبِعْهَا الأَسْوَاقُ بَيْعَ كَسَادِ

    And they passed around aged liquor of value

    That markets did not sell even with declining prices

  27. شَرِبُوهَا وَكُلُّهُمْ مسْتَعِيدٌ

    مِنْ عُهُودٍ مَا لَيْسَ بِالمُسْتَعَادِ

    They drank it while all feeling nostalgic

    Of eras that cannot be restored

  28. فَإِذَا الْفَجْرُ بَازِغٌ مِنْ دُجَاهَا

    وَإِذَا الأُنْسُ بَعْدَ أَنْ رَاح غَادِي

    So when dawn rose from its darkness

    And company returned after the departure of the visitor;

  29. طَيِّباتٌ قَدْ أَحْمَدُوهَا وَمَا فيِ

    هَا مُرَاءٍ لِمَأْرَبٍ أَوْ مُرَادِي

    Delights which they praised, and in it no

    Disagreeing with Marib or Murad

  30. لَيْسَ بِدْعاً وَرَبَّة القْصْرِ لاَ تَفْ

    عَلُ غَيْرَ الْخَلِيقِ بالإِحْمَادِ

    It is no wonder the mistress of the palace does not

    Do anything but the befitting and right

  31. غَادَةٌ مَثَّل الْعَفَافُ بِهَا الْحُسْ

    نَ نَقِيّا صَفْواً كَماءِ العِهَادِ

    A chaste one representing virtue in her

    Pure whiteness like clear spilled water

  32. كُلُّ آيَاتِ نُبْلِهَا صَادِرَاتٌ

    عَنْ تَمَامِ الْحِجَى وَرِفْقِ الْفُؤَادِ

    All signs of her nobility come

    From the perfection of reason and gentleness of heart

  33. يَا سَلِيلَ الْكِرَامِ مِنْ عُنْصُرٍ يُرْ

    جِعُ فِي جَاهِهِ إِلى آمَادِ

    O descendant of generous ones whose origin

    Goes back in status to immemorial nobility

  34. وَأَدِيباً بَيْنَ السَّرَاةِ غَرِيباً

    جَاءَ فِي جِيلِهِ مِنَ الأَفْرادِ

    And a literate one unique among the nobility

    Who came in his time from singular ones

  35. وَمُجِيداً فَنَّ السَّماعِ اتِّباعاً

    وَابْتِدَاعاً عَلَى أَجَلِّ المَبَادِي

    And excellence itself in the art of songwriting

    Following and innovating over most guided paths

  36. فَإِذَا مَا اسْتَوْحَى فَنَثْرَ الشَّواكِي

    فِي أَغَارِيدِهِ وَنَظْمُ الشَّوَادِي

    So when he composes prose in the style of Al-Shawkanī

    In his singing or the verse of the Shāwanī

  37. قِرَّ عَيْناً بِفَضْلِ رَبِّك وَاقْرَأْ

    سُورَةَ الْبِشْرِ فِي وُجوهِ العِبَادِ

    May your eye delight in your Lord’s bounty and recite

    The Chapter of Good News in the faces of His servants

  38. وَتَلَقَّ الْعَرُوسَ يُوفِدُهَا الْخِدْ

    رُ إِلى الْقَصْرِ أَيَّما إِيفَادِ

    And the bride was sent by fate

    To the palace, however fate decided to send her

  39. ِي احْتِفَالٍ إِلى نِهَايَةِ مَا يَنْ

    طَلِقُ الطَّرْفُ رَكُبُهُ مُتَمَادِي

    In a celebration reaching wherever the eye travels

    Its riding beast continuously marching

  40. غَايَةٌ فِي الْجَمَالِ بُورِكَ فِيهَا

    لَكَ زَوْجاً وآيَةٌ فِي الرَّشَادِ

    An utmost in beauty, blessed you have

    A wife, a sign of guidance in leadership

  41. أَدَبٌ رَائِعٌ وَعِلْمٌ وَفِيرٌ

    وَحَدِيثٌ عَذْبٌ وَلُطْفٌ بَادِي

    Of perfect manners, abundant knowledge,

    Sweet talk and kindness obvious

  42. وَحَيَاءٌ فِي عِزَّةٍ فِي احْتِشَامٍ

    مِنْ أَبِيهَا وَأُمِّها مُسْتَفَادِ

    And modesty with pride with decency

    Learned from her father and mother

  43. إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْوِصَالِ هَذَا لَوَعْدٌ

    كَانَ بَيْنَ الرُّوحَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْوِلاَدِ

    Verily this day of union was a promise

    Between the two spirits before birth

  44. سَرَّ مَا سَرَّ مِنْ قُلُوبٍ وَأَجْلَى

    عَنْ سَمَاءِ الصَّفاءِ كُلَّ ارْبِدَادِ

    It delighted whatever delighted of hearts

    And purified the sky of serenity from all clouds

  45. وَأَتَمَّ النَّعمَاءَ أَنْ كَانَ فِيهِ

    مِثْلَ حَظِّ السَّرَاةِ حَظُّ السَّوَادِ

    And it completed blessings that there be the likes

    Of commoners - the lot of many

  46. كَيْفَ تَحْظَى بِالنُّور عَيْنٌ إِذَا لَمْ

    يَتَكَامَلْ بَيَاضَهَا بِالسَّوَادِ

    How can an eye perceive light if

    Its whiteness does not mix with blackness?

  47. مَا كَثِيرُ الإِحسانِ إِلاَّ قَلِيلٌ

    فِي تَفَادِي الأَذَى وَرَدِّ نَآدِ

    Not many of benefaction but few

    In avoiding harm and returning favors

  48. وَبِبَعْضِ الإِصْلاَحِ مِنْ شَأْنِ عَافٍ

    يُتَّقى طَائِلٌ مِنَ الإِفْسَادِ

    And with some reform of a decent one's trait

    A predicament of corruption is avoided

  49. ذَلِكُمْ مَا بِهِ يُجِيبُ نَجِيبٌ

    أَبَداً دَاعِيَ الضَّميرِ المُنَادِي

    That is what a decent one answers

    Whenever conscience calls him eternally

  50. هَلْ نَجِيبٌ وَقَدْ نَدَا النَّاسَ إِلاَّ

    مَنْ لَهُ حَيْثُ كَانَ صَدْرُ النَّادِي

    Is there someone decent when people called him

    Except one who has the position of rank there

  51. وَلَهُ فِي التَّجلَّةِ الرِّتبَةُ العُلْيَا

    وَيَزْدَادُ قَدْرُهَا بِالوِدَادِ

    And the highest class in the assembly

    And his value increases with affection

  52. هُوَ فِي القَومِ وَاحِدٌ بِعُلاَهُ

    جَاءَ فِي فَتْرَةٍ مِنَ الآحَادِ

    Of resolute sight set on distant goals

    And a face smiling early at dawn

  53. ذُو مَقَامٍ بِنَفْسِهِ وَكَثِيراً

    مَا يَكُونُ المَقَامُ بِالإِسْنَادِ

    With manners cloaking advice - if he says it

    Giving direction - with politeness

  54. عَرَفَتْ قَدرَهُ البِلاَدُ فَأَعْلَتْ

    قَدْرَهُ فَوْقَ مَطْمَعِ الأَنْدَادِ

    Ambition which no hesitation nor avoidance impedes

    And not all wishes are attained abruptly

  55. نَظَرٌ فِي العُلَى بَعِيدٌ مَرَامِي

    هِ وَوَجْهٌ يَبَشُّ بِالقُصَّادِ

    But with determination that does not bend or relent

    Sometimes with a soft touch of smooth fingers in it

  56. أَدَبٌ يُلْبِسُ المَلاَمَاتِ ظَرْفاً

    إِنْ يَقُلْهَا فِي مَعْرِضِ الإِرْشَادِ

    There is power not found in millstones

    Sometimes with a word whispered but

  57. هِمَّة لاَ يَعُوقُهَا عَنْ مَدَاهَا

    عَائِقٌ مِن تَرَدُّدٍ أَوْ تَفَادِي

    Its impact beyond the impact of yelling

    Sometimes an opinion gained what

  58. وَالأَمَانِيُّ لَيْسَ تُدْرَكُ وَثْباً

    بَلْ بِعَزْمٍ لاَ يَنْثَنِي وَاطِّرَادِ

    The conquest of an armed invader did not attain

    Seeker of the difficult, Najeeb aids

  59. أَتَرَانِي أُحْصِي مَزَايَا نَجِيبٍ

    وَهْيَ تَعْصِي التَّقيِيْدَ بِالتَّعْدَادِ

    Undeterred by any obstacles from success

    Everyone who takes refuse with Najeeb

  60. مُبْدِعٌ فِي طَرَائِقِ النُّبلِ هَلْ

    أُبْدِيءَ فَضْلٌ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بِالْبَادِي

    Has taken refuge in bent branches and strong fortification

    Every knowledge and every art

  61. عَادِلُ النَّفسِ وَاقِفٌ فِي سَبِيلِ الْ

    حَقِّ لِلظَّالِمِينَ بِالمِرْصَادِ

    Finds its share of sustenance in his company

    And unique creations have come from him

  62. صَادِقُ الْوَعْدِ صِدْقَ حُرٍّ وَلَكِنْ

    قَدْ يُرَى وَهْوَ مُخْلِفُ الإِيعَادِ

    That encompassed every Arabic dialect

    If a garden of eloquence blossomed in the East

  63. وَلَهُ فِي سِيَاسَةِ النَّاسِ وَحْيٌ

    شَفَّ عَنْ رَأْي حَاذِقٍ نَقَّادِ

    From his thickets in the uninhabited area

    What thing is more craved by the soul than

  64. رُبَّما خِلْتَ أَنَّه مُسْتَشَاطٌ

    غَضَباً وَهْوَ سَاكِنُ الطَّبعِ هَادِي

    Listening to his wild ducks - and the pouring of a Chanter?

    Pride for a nation with glory - its pride

  65. أَوْ ظَنَنْتَ الطَّرِيقَ غَيْرَ الَّتِي يَسْ

    لُكُهَا وَهْوَ فِي طَرِيقِ السَّدَادِ

    In nobilities and glories

    May God have mercy on you, O Najeeb, a father you

  66. يَبْلُغُ الأَمْرَ بِالتَّقاصُرِ لاَ يَبْ

    لُغُهُ غَيْرُهُ بِطُولِ النِّجادِ

    Represented with meanings of generosity

    Which remainder persists in the page of praise?

  67. رُبَّ لَحْظٍ مِنٍ نَاعِمِ الظَّفرِ فِيهِ

    سَطْوَةٌ لاَ تَكُونُ فِي الآسَادِ

    More enduring than professions your hand immortalized

    The day armies prostrate in battle

  68. رُبَّ قَوْلٍ يُخَافَتُ الصَّوْتُ فيهِ

    وَاقِعٌ فَوْقَ مَوْقِعِ الإِرْغَادِ

    And the face of earth is covered with corpses

    And Damascus sighs under universal calamities

  69. رُبَّ رَأْيٍ أَنالَ مَا لَمْ يَنَلْهُ

    بَطْشُ غَازٍ بِعَسْكَرٍ وَعَتَادِ

    Engulfing the valleys and deserts

    O what a catastrophe has befallen my people

  70. طَالِبُ الصَّعبِ وَالنَّصيرُ نَجِيبٌ

    لَيْسَ تَعْدُوهُ عَنْ نَجَاحٍ عَوَادِي

    Exhausting them in their cities and outskirts

    Whenever what depicts it or what brings

  71. كُلُّ آوٍ إِلَى نَجِيبٍ فَقَدْ لاَ

    ذَ بِرُكْنِ النَّدَى وَحِصْنِ الذِّيَادِ

    It close renews, I remember it with shuddering

    Unprecedented severity every day -

  72. كُلُّ عِلمٍ وَكُلُّ فَنٍّ مُصِيبٌ

    فِي ذَرَاهُ حَظّاً مِنَ الإِمْدَادِ

    Beyond what they told of the years of droughts

    Every situation fear displaced until

  73. وَلَهُ فِي النَّوَالِ مُبْتَكَرَاتٌ

    شَمِلَتْ كُلَّ نَاطِقٍ بِالضَّادِ

    The latter ones denied the ways back

    Hunger did in souls a deed

  74. إِنْ بِالشَّرْقِ رَوْضَةً مِنْ بَيَانٍ

    بَرَزَتْ مِنْ حِلاَهُ فِي أَبْرَادِ

    After which the free became like slaves

    The last effort of the dying was spent

  75. أَيُّ شَيءٍ أَشْهَى إِلَى النَّفسِ مِنْ

    إِنصاتِ أَطْيَارِهَا وَفَيَّاضُ شَادِي

    In a prostration to one of tyranny

    My soul's eagerness for thousands killed

  76. خَيْرُ فَخْرٍ لأُمَّة ذَاتِ مَجْدٍ

    فَخْرُهَا بِالأَكَارِمِ الأَمْجَادِ

    Of starving women and children

    And men crumpled due to emaciation who before

  77. رَحِمَ اللهُ يا نَجِيبُ أَباً مَثَّلْ

    تَ فِيهِ مِنْ مَعَانٍ جِيادِ

    Were like strong pillars

    None survived besides those few who

  78. أَيُّ بَاقٍ فِي صَفْحَةِ الحَمْدِ أَبْقَى

    مِنْ مَسَاعٍ خَلَّدْتهَا وَأَيَادِ

    Were secretly saved by patriots’ generosity

    So they ransomed them from death though they

  79. يَوْمَ تُصْلَى مَمَالِكُ الأَرضِ حَرْباً

    وَيُغَطَّى وَجْهُ الثَّرَى بِجِسَادِ

    Were at death's edge, most generous ransomer

    And protected honors from disgrace -

  80. وَيَئِنُّ الشَّآمُ تَحتَ كُرُوبٍ

    شَامِلاَتِ الأَغوارِ وَالأنْجَادِ

    Helped, not stingy with aid

    My country, is there in agony like

  81. يَا لَهَا نَكبَةً بِقوْمِيَ حَلَّتْ

    أَرْهَقَتْهُمْ فِي مُدْنِهِمْ وَالبَوَادِي

    The kinds of enslavement you suffered?

    What misery rivals the misery of a house

  82. كُلَّمَا جَدَّ مَا يُصَوِّرُهَا لِي

    أَو يُدَانِي ذَكْرُتُهَا بِارْتِعَادِ

    Upon which corruption compounds corruption?

    Every army that rose in it under pretext

  83. فَاقَ فِيها بِشِدَّةٍ كُلُّ يَومٍ

    مَا حَكَوْا عَنْ سَبْعِ السِّنِينَ الشِّدَادِ

    Of fighting an aggressor only enabled aggression

    Or came victorious yet disgraceful gratitude

  84. كُلُّ حَالٍ أَحَالَهَا الذُّعْرُ حَتَّى

    أَنْكَرَتْ أُخْرَيَاتِهِنَّ المَبَادِي

    The victorious demands of his soldiers

    That chronic malady of renegades’ rebellion

  85. فَعَلَ الجُوعُ فِي النُّفوسِ فِعالاً

    عَادَ مِنها الأَحْرَارُ كالأَوْغَادِ

    Gathering helpers, camel herders and carriers

    When one assumes leading a people temporarily

  86. آخِرُ الْجَهْدِ رَاحَ يُنْفِقُهُ المَائِ

    تُ فِي سَجْدَةٍ لِذِي اسْتِبْدَادِ

    Then hands over the leadership to his adversary

    Disregard eras of humiliation in souls

  87. لَهْفَ نَفْسِي عَلَى أُلُوفٍ تُوُفُّوا

    مِنْ جِياعِ النِّساءِ وَالأَوْلاَدِ

    Of ill preparedness and susceptibility

    And recall what sequence of humiliation murders

  88. وَرِجَالٍ دُكُّوا لِفَرْطِ هُزَالٍ

    وَهُمُ قَبْلَ ذَاكَ كالأَطْوَادِ

    Aspirations in people, and oppression and subjugation

    You see what events left of an ancient nation

  89. مَا نَجَا غَيرُ مَنْ تَدَارَكَ مِنْهُمْ

    فِي خَفَاءٍ نَدَى هُمامٍ جَوَادِ

    With long standing chains and shackles

    In a country that beginnings were civilizations, glory,

  90. فَفَدَاهُمْ مِنَ المَنُونِ وَكَانُوا

    بَيْنَ أَيْدِي المَنُونِ أَكْرَمُ فَادِي

    Yet we became in the ruins

    You see what disunity of a people dragged along

  91. وَأَقَالَ الأَعْرَاضَ مِنْ عَثَرَاتٍ

    مُسْتَعَانٌ مَا ضَنَّ بِالإِنْجَادِ

    Of hatred’s severed ties

    Is this dispersal in everything how they

  92. يَا بِلاَدِي هَلْ فِي الْعَنَاءِ كَمَا عَا

    نَيْتِهِ مِنْ ضُرُوبِ الاسْتِعْبَادِ

    Gather forces to confront enemies?

    Or do they see it an achievement, boasting of

  93. أَيُّ تَعْسٍ كَتَعْسِ دَارٍ عَلَيْهَا

    يَتَوَالَى الفَسَادُ بَعْدَ الفَسَادِ

    Their forefathers’ building from eras of Aad?

    That situation Najeeb saw

  94. كُلُّ جَيْشٍ إِنْ قَامَ فِيهَا بِدَعْوَى

    رَدِّ عَادٍ أَقَامَ عُذْراً لِعَادِي

    Healing the wound with needle and bandage

    What hope remains for him in the dark days?

  95. أَوْ أَتَى ظَافِراً فَيَا نُكْرَ شُكْرٍ

    يَتَقَاضَاهُ ظَافِرُ الأَجْنَادِ

    What consideration does he have for survival?

    Who do we see realize a dream

  96. كَيْفَ بِالْعِلَّةِ الدِّوِيَّة مِنْ فِتْ

    نَةِ بَاغٍ جَمِّ النَّدَى كَيَّادِ

    Not a mirage but a vision from the truthful?

    A nation in our view cooperating

  97. إِذْ تَوَلَّى قِيَادَ قَوْمٍ لِحِينٍ

    ثُمَّ أَلْقى لِخَصْمِهِ بِالْقِيَادِ

    And hearts unified like ours in solidarity

    May a day come and may it be soon

  98. عَدِّ عَمَّا تُجِدُّ أَدْهَارُ ذُلٍّ

    فِي نُفُوسٍ مِنْ سُوءِ الاِسّتِعْدَادِ

    When God grants honor to the countries and fulfils

    For its most valued the intended aim

  99. وَاذَّكِرْ مَا يُمِيتُ مِنْ هِمَمِ النَّ

    اسِ تَوَالِي مَهَانَةٍ وَاضْطِهَادِ

    My friend, what I said about you is true

    And I permanently rely on truth

  100. تَرَ مَا أَبْقَتِ الْحَوَادِثُ مِنْ شَعْ

    بٍ قَدَيمِ الأَغْلاَلِ وَالأَصْفَادِ

    I said it out of friendship and when

    Your signs increase, it increases my friendship

  101. فِي بِلاَدٍ كُنَّ الأَوَائِلَ عُمْرا

    ناً وَعِزّاً فَصِرْنَ فِي الأَبْلاَدِ

    And nothing is more lovable to me in a person

    Than what he has of good repute among his people

  102. تَرَ مَا جَرَّهُ عَلَى وَحْدَةِ الْقَوْ

    مِ انْفِكَاكُ العُرَى مِنَ الأَحْقَادِ

    And I think highly of a young man by

    The extent of what his efforts do for the country

  103. أَبِهَذَا الشَّتاتِ فِي كُلُّ شَيْءٍ

    يَجْمَعُونَ القُوَى لِصَدِّ أَعَادِي

    I have no ulterior motive or agenda

    Other than this principle or consequence

  104. أَمْ يَرَوْنَ البِنَاءَ أَنْ يَتَبَاهَوْا

    بِبِنَاءِ الآبَاءِ مِنْ عَهْدِ عَادِ

  105. تلْكَ حَالٌ وَقَدْ رَآهَا نَجيبٌ

    دَارَكَ الْجُرْحَ بالأَسَا وَالضِّمادِ

  106. وَلَهُ في الذَّمَاءِ أَيُّ رَجَاءٍ

    وَلَهُ بالْبَقَاءِ أَيُّ اعْتدَادِ

  107. مَنْ لَنَا أَن نرَى تَحَقُقَ حُلمٍ

    لَيْسَ بابْن الْكَرَى بَل ابْنِ السُّهَادِ

  108. أُمَّة عنْدَ ظَنِّنا تَتَآخَى

    وَقُلُوبٌ كَهَمِّنا في اتِّحادِ

  109. عَلَّ يَوْماً وَلاَ يَكُونُ بَعيداً

    يَلْتَقي وَالمُنَى عَلَى ميعَادِ

  110. فَيُعِزَّ اللهُ البِلاَدَ وَيَقْضِي

    لأَعِزَّائِهَا بِنُجْحِ المُرَادِ

  111. يَا صَدِيقِي مَا قُلْتُهُ فِيكَ حَقٌ

    وَعَلَى الْحَقِّ مَا حَيِيتُ اعْتِمَادِي

  112. قُلْتُهُ عَنْ صَدَاقَةٍ وَإِذَا آ

    يَاتُكَ ازْدَدْنَ فَهْوَ رَهْنُ ازْدِيَادِ

  113. وَأَنَالاَ أُحِبُّ فِي المرْءِ إِلاَّ

    مَا لَهُ عِنْدَ قَوْمِهِ مِنْ أَيَادِي

  114. وَأُجِلُّ الفَتَى عَلَى قَدْرِ مَا جَلَّ

    تْ مَسَاعِيهِ فِي سَبِيلِ الْبِلاَدِ

  115. لَيْسَ لِي مَطْمَعٌ وَلاَ لِيَ دِينٌ

    غَيْرُ هَذَا لِمَبْدَإٍ أَوْ مَعَادِ
