سَحْراً وَكَانَ فِرَاقُهَا مُتَوَقَّعا

O a girl who visited like a fleeting specter

مَا أَعْجَلَ الأَقْدَارُ فِي اسْتِرْدَادِهَا

بَعْدَ السَّماحِ نَفْيَهَا المُسْتَوْدَعَا

رُوحٌ مِنَ اللُّطْفِ الْخَفِيِّ أَقَامَ فِي

قَلْبٍ كَسِيرٍ بُرْهَةً وَتَنَوَّعَا

كَالطِّيبِ فِي قَارُورَةٍ مَصْدُوعَةٍ
