يَا مَرْحَباً بِالسَّيدِ البَطْرِيقِ

رَاعِي الرُّعَاةِ الصَّالِحِ الصَّدِّيقِ

O welcome, O noble penguin

Shepherd of righteous, pious shepherds

فَلْتُنْظَمِ الزَّيْنَاتُ حَوْلَ رَكْبِهِ

وَلْتُنْثِرِ الأَزْهَارُ فِي الطَّرِيقِ

Let decorations be strung around his mount

And flowers strewn along his path

وَلْيَرْقَ بَيْنَ تَكْرُمَاتِ شَعْبِهِ

سُدَّتَهُ بِاليُمْنِ وَالتَّوِفيقِ

And may he stride gracefully amidst the generosity of his people

Crowned with success and divine aid

مَا أَجْمَعَ الأَحْبَارُ فِي انْتِخَابِهِ

إِلاَّ عَلَى المُقَدَّمِ الخَلِيقِ

The scholars were unanimous in electing him

As the most qualified, refined candidate

أَلعَالِمُ العَامِلُ وَالمُهَذَّبُ

الكَامِلُ وَالمُفَوَّهُ المَنْطِيقِ

The knowledgeable worker, the cultivated

The perfect, eloquent, articulate

الحَكَمُ الآخِذُ فِي أَحْكَامِهِ

بِالقِسْطِ فِي الخَّلِيلِ وَالدَّقِيقِ

The wise judge who in his rulings

Rules with justice, care and precision

الوَالِدُ الحَانِي عَلَى بَيعَتِه

القَائِدُ الصَّائِنٌ لِلْحُقُوقِ

The affectionate guardian of his oath of allegiance

The leader who protects rights

الحَازِمُ الصَّارِمُ غَيْرُ بَاخِلٍ

بِحَسَنَاتِ قَلْبِهِ الشَّفيقِ

The resolute, strict yet not stingy

With the good deeds of his kind heart

أَعْجَبْ بِمَا أُوتِيهِ مِنْ خُلُقٍ

مُنَزَّهٍ وَأَدَبٍ رَفِيقِ

Marvel at his refined, impeccable manners

And gentle, friendly etiquette

وَمِنْ وَدَاعِةٍ وَمِنْ شَجَاعَةٍ

يَكْبُرُهَا العدوُّ كَالصَّدِيقِ

At his gentleness and his valor

Which even enemies admire like a friend

الصَّائِغُ الجُمَانَ فِي عِطَاشِهِ

يَحْلِي بِلَفِّظ مُشْرِقٍ أَنِيقِ

The one who molds words in his thirst

Sweetly, with radiant, graceful phrasing

لِيَرْعَهُ اللهُ القَدِيرُ وَلْيَدُمْ

عَزَّ رُبُوعِ الشَّرْقِ بِالفَرْوقِ

May Almighty God let him live long and preserve
