هَدَايَا النَّاسِ مِنْ زَهْرِ الجنَانِ

وَمَا أَهْدِيهِ مِنْ زَهْرِ الجَنَانِ

The gifts of people are from the flowers of paradise

While what I gift is not of the flowers of paradise

جَمِلُكَ سَابِقٌ وَعَلَيَّ شُكْرٌ

أَجَبْتُ إِلَيْهِ قَلْبِي إِذْ دَعَانِي

Your camel preceded while I am grateful

I responded to it with my heart when it called me

وَتُسْعِدُنِي السَّوَانِحُ فِي وَفَائِي

لإِخْوَانِي الكِرَامِ وَذَاكَ شَانِي

And good coincidences make me happy with my loyalty

To my noble brothers, and that is my distinction

فَمِنْ مَمْطُورِ وُدِّكَ فِي فُؤَادِي

جَنِي هَذِي التَّهَانِيءِ فِي التَّهَانِي

So from your overflowing love in my heart

I reaped these congratulations in the congratulations

تُدَارُ فَمَا تَضُنُّ عَلَى النَّدَامَى

بِسُرِّ الرَّاحِ فِي غُرِّ الأَوَانِي

They go around, so they are not stingy to the thirsty

With the secret of winds in the caves of vessels

وَرُبَّ هَدِيَّةٍ رَاعَتْ جَمَالاً

وَلَمْ تَكُ بِالنُّضَارِ وَلا الجُمَانِ

And how many gifts amazed by beauty

But had no blossoming or perfection

أَيَظْفَرُ فِي الكَرَائِمِ مِنْ حِجَارٍ

بِلُطْفِ الحَسِّ أَوْ ظَرْفِ المَعَانِي

Does it gain merits made of stones

With subtle senses or eloquence of meanings?

وَهَلْ تَسْمُو المَصُوغَاتُ الغَوَالِي

إِلَى طُرُقِ البَدِيعِ أَوِ البَيَانِ

And do the gilded creations ascend

To the ways of rhetoric or eloquence?

لِعُرْسِ فَتَاتِكَ المَشْهُورِ يَوْمٌ

غَدَا بِرُوائِهِ عُرْسَ الزَّمَانِ

For the wedding of your famed daughter, a day

That dawned adorned as the wedding of time

عَلَى ذِكْرَاهُ تَصْطَفِقُ القَوَافِي

كَمَا اصْطَفَقَتْ بُنُودُ المَهْرَجَانِ

When mentioned, prose rhymes chime

As the ornaments of festivals chimed

أَعِزَّةُ مِصْرَ مُحْتَشِدُونَ فِيهِ

وَرَبَّاتُ الكَمَالِ مِنَ الغَوَانِي

The dignitaries of Egypt gathered in it

And the paragons of perfection from the beauties

وَيَعْقِدُ أَوْلِيَاءُ الله عَقْداً

يَزِيدُ جَلالَهُ قُدْسُ المَكَانِ

And the saints of God make a bond

That increases its majesty, by the sanctity of the place

يُبَارِكَ لِلْحِجَى وَالطُّهْرِ فِيهِ

وَقَدْ ضَمَّتْهَا حِلَّةُ الاقْتِرَانِ

Blessing the loved ones and the chaste in it

As the dress of marriage has gathered them

تُزَفُّ إِلَى نَجِيبٍ أَلِمَعِيٍّ

شَأْى وَرِهَانُهُ أَسْمَى رِهَانِ

She is wed to an illustrious and high-born one

Whose distinction and bet is the highest bet

مَلِيكَا سَاعَةٍ فِي عَرْشِ فَأْلٍ

أَقَامَتْهُ لِسَعْدِهِمَا الأَمَانِي

A king for an instance on the throne of glory

That hopes erected for their felicity

تُحِيطُ بِهِ الحَوَاشِي مِنْ عَذَارَى

شَبَائِهِ بِالمَلائِكَةِ الحِسَانِ

She is encircled by attendants from maidens

As radiant as the angels of beauty

وَتَكْلأُهُ العِنَايَةُ وَهْيَ تَرْنُو

بِعَيْنِ أَبٍ عَلَى وَلَدَيْهِ حَانِ

And providence coddles her, longing

With a father's eye for his children, affectionate

هُنَاكَ رَأَيْتُ تَوْفِيقاً وَعَهْدِي

بِهِ ثَبُتاً كَرَاسِيةِ الرعَانِ

There I saw Tawfiq, and my covenant to him

Is firmly established as the pillars of the faithful

أَلانَ الرِّفْقُ جَانِبَهُ وَذَلَّتْ

مَدَامِعُهُ الأَبِيَّةُ مِنْ حَنَانِ

Gentleness softened his side, and his

Tearful paternal eyes melted with tenderness

فَهَذَا مِنْ مَوَاقِفِهِ وَفِيهَا

ضُرُوبُ الفَخْرِ أَشْجَى مَا شَجَانِي

So this is one of his stances, and in it

Are forms of pride that deeply stirred me

أَنَادِرَةُ الرِّجَالِ نُهًى وَعِلْماً

وَنُضْجاً بِاليَرَاعَةِ وَاللِّسَانِ

Rarities of men in restraint, knowledge

And maturity with judiciousness and tongue

بِلَتْ مِنْكَ الوِزَارَةُ لَوْذَعِيّاً

حَكِيماً فِي الصَّلابَةِ وَاللِّيَانِ

From you, ministry wore a firm and wise one

In resilience and sagacity

حَلِماً لَيْسَ تُخْطِيءُ نَاظِرَيْهِ

عَوَاقِبَ مَا يُعَالِجُ أَوْ يَعَانِي

Clement, whose sights do not misjudge

The consequences of what he handles or endures

يُصَرِّفُهَا بآيَاتِ اقْتِدَارٍ

لَهَا شَهِدَ الأَقَاصِي وَالأَدَانِي

He maneuvers them with signs of omnipotence

That the far and near have witnessed

وَجَرَّدَتِ النَّيَابَةُ مِنْكَ نَصْلاً

كَلِيلاً دُونَهُ النَّصْلُ اليَمَانِي

And the deputation stripped from you a keen blade

Unequaled, preceded by the Yemeni blade

يَحُلُّ المَعْضِلاتِ مِنَ القَضَايَا

وَفِيهِ لِنُجْحِهَا أَوْفَى ضَمَانِ

It solves the problems of cases

And it fully guarantees their success

وَمَحَّصَتِ التَّجَارِبُ أَيَّ نَدْبٍ

لَهُ فِي كُلِّ مَفْخَرَةٍ يَدَانِ

And experiences substantiated whichever excellence

He has a hand in every pride

مَعَرُّ صِنَاعَةٍ وَمُقِيلُ فَنٍّ

وَقَوَّامٌ عَلَى أَرْضٍ وَبَانِ

Well-versed in an industry and inclined to an art

And overseeing a land and its buildings

طَرَائِقُ فِي سَبِيلِ المَجْدِ شَتَّى

رَفَعْنَكَ بَيْنَ أَعْلامِ الأَوَانِ

Diverse paths in the way of glory

Raised you among the banners of the times

فَإِنْ أَقُلِ انْفَرَدْتَ فَرُبَّ زَهْرٍ

بِكَ ابْتَدَأَتْ وَلَيْسَتْ بِالثَّوانِي

So if I say you're unparalleled, then many a flower

Began with you, and is not secondary

كَوَاكِبُ بَيْتِكُمْ نَسَقٌ وَأَدْنَى

إِلَى عَيْنيَّ مِنْهَا نّيِّرَانِ

The stars of your house are a chain, and nearer

To my eyes among them are fires

إِذَا اسْتَوَتِ النُّجُومُ سَنىً وَقَدْراً

فَابْرَزُ مَا نَرَاهُ مَا يُدَانِي

When stars are equal in elevation and destiny

The utmost we see is what comes close

وَيَذْكُرُ فَرْقَداً مَنْ لا يُسَمَّى

وَبالأَفْرَادِ يَعْنِي الفَرْقَدَانِ

And it recalls an individual who is peerless

And by individuals it refers to the two unique ones

أَعِرْنِي بَعْضَ مَا بِكَ مِنْ ذَكَاءٍ

لَهُ لَمَحُ الدَّرَارِي فِي العَنَانِ

Acquaint me with some of the acumen in you

That has the flair of ingenuity in its bridle

وَمِنْ خَطَرَاتِ ذَاكَ الفِكْرِ تَجْرِي

بِهَا الفَطَرَاتُ مِنْ تِلْكَ البَنَانِ

And with the intimations of that thought flowing

Through it, instincts from those edifices

أُصَرِّحُ عَنْ وَلاءٍ لَمْ يَضِرْهُ

تَقَادُمُهُ بِأَبْلَغِ تُرْجُمَانِ

I profess openly a loyalty that long passage of time

Did not harm, in the most eloquent interpreter

وَأَبْعَثُهَا شَوَارِدَ فِيكَ تَزْرِي

بِرَنَّاتِ المَثَالِثِ وَالمَثَانِي

And I send them as metaphors wandering in you

Immortalizing your virtues that reached the epitome of charm

مُخَلِّدَةٌ مَنَاقِبُكَ اللَّوَاتِي

بَلَغْتَ بِهُنَّ غَايَةَ الافْتِنَانِ

Wondrous in their harmony, fruits

For the souls' marvel and admiration

غَرَائِبُ فِي تَأَلُّفِهَا مَثَارٌ

لإِعْجَابِ النُّفُوسِ وَالافْتِنَانِ

If a garden is fragrant, then talk

Of the trees in it and the streams

إِذَا مَا رَوْضَةٌ طَابَتْ فَحَدِّثْ

عَنِ الأَغْرَاسِ فِيهَا وَالمَجَانِي

So that reasons to rejoice increase in your homes

Again and again at different times

لِتَكْثُرْ فِي مَنَازِلِكَ الدَّوَاعِي

إِلَى الأَفْرَاحِ فِي آنٍ فَآنِ

And your days are auspicious and life comfortable

As you wish, and your family is safe

وَدَهْرُكَ مُقْبِلٌ وَالعَيْشُ رَغْدٌ

كَمَا تَهْوَى وَسَرْبُكَ فِي أَمَانِ
