أَقِيمِي أُطِلْ مِنْ نَظْرَتِي مَا اسْتَطَعْتُهَا
إِلَى جَانِبٍ مِنْ وَجْهِكِ المُتَحَوِّلِ
Gaze long as you are able
Upon a changing cheek,
فَمَا بِكِ حُسْنٌ فَوْقَ ذَاكَ وَإِنَّهُ
لَيُغْنِي المُنَى عَنْ كُلِّ حُسْنٍ مُكَمِّل
For there is no beauty beyond that,
Though it suffice the lovesick.
كَذَا المَلَكُ الرَّانِي إِلَى وَجْهِه رَبِّهِ
لَهُ طَرْفُ مَطُروف وَمَيْلَةُ أَمْيعل
Thus the soft-voiced angel to his Lord
Turns a melted gaze, a visage inclined.
