Your throne has risen in the mightiest place,

With mountains surrounding it on all sides.

The flowing stream pours forth from your roar,

On either bank, gardens of greenery arise.

With a beloved murmur for ears to prize.

A torrent with a tumbling, deafening din,

The rock in its abyss seems clothed in white.

Like a cloak of soft silk hanging from on high,

Adorned with pearls and precious jewels bright.

Where peace is found and all is free from price.

As if they glide smoothly without any vice.

Beauty has signs and landmarks all around,

That chill the breast and captivate the eyes.

Like the perfection that eyes verify.

Look now with your right at the head held high,

Adorned by the awe of its Roman crown.

Its majesty covers the morn, as it dawns,

Decked out in lights and colors of renown.

In it, a singular creative skill is shown.

See the noble tree split and cracked, yet verdant,

As sap flows down between its trunk and bough.

And see the rectangular, shaded minaret,

Swaying in an ocean of brilliant shine.

Below it, a crocodile lashes about,

The waves of pine trees swell and seethe and whine.

Let your gaze roam wherever it desires,

It will only fall on what is beyond sublime.

Do you see Nature, so fertile, as she came

With her swelling breasts and most pure white wine.

She feeds her terraces and casts her pearls,

Freely upon the deep valleys and ravines.

For what lies below, the lofty cypress trees.

She seizes you with piety, though you lack it,

And you learn the secret of monks in their shrines.

As for the air, none more gentle when it blows,

Between the pine trees, fragrant and serene.

And the water, none more pure are its springs,

Nor more salubrious its call so sheen.

Come from pretense and excess preening.

O people of Jizin, you who boast

Of noble manners and insight keen.

An elite of both your old and young,

    Pure, virtuous, and brilliant demeanor.

You have crowned me with kindness, though

I am not deserving of such esteem.
