1. زُفَّتْ إِلَيْكَ وَالزَّمانُ وَرْدُ

    وَالنُّورُ تَاجٌ وَالفَرِيدُ عِقْدُ

    The season has come to you bearing roses,

    Light is the crown and creation the necklace.

  2. وَالجَوُّ صَفْوٌ وَالنَّسِيمُ نَدُّ

    مَا أَبْهَجَ الْعَيْشَ إِذَا تَلاَقَى

    The weather is clear and the breeze gentle,

    How enjoyable is life when two

  3. مُلْتَهِبَانِ ظَمَأً فَذَاقَا

    كَأْساً مِزَاجُهَا أَلْهَوَى وَالسَّعْدُ

    Thirsty souls meet

    And taste a cup whose mixture intoxicates.

  4. مَا الحُبُّ إِلاَّ نِعْمَةٌ وَأَمْنٌ

    لأَهْلِهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ وَيُمْنُ

    Love is nothing but a blessing and safety

    For its people, and mercy and prosperity,

  5. دَعْ عَاذِلاً أَوْ سَائِلاً مَا بَعْدُ

    أَلْيَوْمَ ظُلْمَةٌ تَسِيلُ خَمْرا

    Leave any blamer or questioner; what comes after is prosperity.

    Today there is darkness pouring wine

  6. مُوْقِدَةٌ فِي كُلِّ قَلْبٍ فَجْرا

    وَفِي غَدٍ شَمْسٌ سَنَاهَا شَهْدُ

    Kindled in every heart an awakening.

    And tomorrow a sun whose honey matured prosperity.

  7. أَلْيَوْمَ تُعْرَفُ أَلْغَرَامَ البِكْرُ

    وَمَا عَلَيْهَا فِي الْغَرَامِ نُكْرُ

    Today the virgin’s love is known

    And she has no shame in love,

  8. يَا حُسْنَ غِيِّ صارَ وَهْوَ رُشْدُ

    مَضَى زَمَانُ الغِرَّةِ اللّطِيفَهْ

    O beautiful madness has become reasonable prosperity.

    The time of innocent playfulness has passed

  9. وَجَاءَ وَقْتُ الصَّبْوَةِ العَفِيفَهْ

    يُعِدّ لِلعُمْرانِ مَنْ يُعِدُّ

    And the time of virtuous youth has come

    That prepares for civilization one who prepares.

  10. وَفي غَدٍ تَوَافُدُ البَنِينَا

    ثُمَّ عَلَى تَقَادُمِ السِّنِينَا

    Tomorrow the children will come

    Then as the years pass

  11. تَجَامُلٌ حُلْوٌ وَعَيْشٌ رَغْدُ

    جُرْجِيتُ يَا مَنْ خَصَّهَا بالحُبِّ

    A beautiful harmony and pleasant prosperous life.

    Jurjita, you who were singled out for love

  12. أَسْرَى الشَّبَابِ فِي أَعَزِّ شَعْبِ

    إِنْ الْوُرُودَ شِبْهُ مَن بَوَدُّ

    A captive of youth in the most precious land

    Indeed, the flowers resemble the one who loves.

  13. جُرْجيتَ قد أُجيزَ لِلْقَوَافِي

    وَصفُ العَرُوسِ سَاعَةَ الزِّفافِ

    Jurjita, the rhymes have been permitted

    To describe the bride at the time of marriage

  14. فَلا يَكُنْ عَنْهُنَّ مِنْكَ صَدُّ

    وَعَلَّ زوجَكِ أَلأَدِيبَ آذِنْ

    So let there be no reluctance from you.

    And inform your husband the writer

  15. إِنِّي إِذَنْ بعَينِهِ مُعَايِنُ

    وبِفُؤادِهِ لِسَانِي يَشْدو

    That through his eyes I see

    And through his heart my tongue sings.

  16. أُحِسُّ فِي رَأْسِيَ مِنْهُ وَحْيا

    يُنْزِلُ فِي نَفْسِي شِعْراً حَيّا

    I feel inspiration from him in my head

    Sending poetry alive into my soul

  17. فَهْوَ يَقُولُ وَأَنَا ارُدُّ

    وانْظُمُ أَلْبَيْتَ أَلْذِي يُؤويكِ

    He says and I respond,

    And I compose the verse that shelters you

  18. فَلَيْسَ يَبدُو رَسْمُ مَعنىً فيكِ

    إِلاَّ ومَعْنىً مِنْهُ فِيهِ يَبْدُو

    No form of meaning appears in you

    Except that a meaning from it appears in it.

  19. لِلهِ أَنتِ فِي أَلْغَوَانِي أَلْحُورِ

    مِنْ روحِ ظرفٍ في مِثَالِ نورِ

    By God, in my songs you are the lovely one

    Of the spirit of a graceful ideal of light

  20. لِكُلِّ عينٍ مِنْ سَنَاهُ وِرْد

    لِلهِ فِي مُقْلَتِكِ النَّجْلاءِ

    For every eye from its radiance is a flower.

    By God, in your bright eyes

  21. تِبْرُ الأَصيلِ في مَدَى السماءِ

    بِبَهْجَةٍ تَكَادُ لاَ تُحَدَّ

    Shines the genuineness across the horizon

    With a delight that can barely be limited.

  22. يَا لَهُ ذاكَ الخَدُّ مَا أَرْوَعَهُ

    لِلهِ ذَاكَ القَدُّ مَا أَبْدَعَهُ

    O, the beauty of that cheek, how amazing!

    By God, the elegance of that stature, how wondrous!

  23. إِذَا اسْتَظَلَّ بِجَنَاهُ القد

    مَحَاسِنُ الأَوصَافِ وَالأَخلاقِ

    When shaded by the posture of that height.

    The virtues of character and manners

  24. فِيكِ الْتَقَتْ والحمدُ للخَلاَّقِ

    وبعدَه لأَبَوَيْكِ الحَمْدُ

    Have gathered in you, and praise be to the Creator,

    And after Him be praise to your parents.

  25. أَخَذْتِ عَنْ أَكْمَلِ أُمٍّ وَأَبِ

    أَوْفَى الجَمَالِ وَأَتَمَّ الأَدَبِ

    You took from the most perfect mother and father

    The most complete beauty and finest etiquette,

  26. وَهَكَذَا مَا جَدَّ يسْتَجدُّ

    وانتَ يا نَجْلَ أَخي نقولا

    And thus what was excellent continues to be excellent.

    And you, my brother’s daughter, we say:

  27. قَدْ سَاغَ يَومَ العرْسِ أَنْ نقولا

    فِيكَ الَّذِي فِيكَ وَلَسْنَا نَعدو

    On your wedding day it is fitting that we say

    About you what is in you, and we do not exaggerate.

  28. إِن تَكُنِ النَّابِغَةَ الحَبِيبَا

    فَعُنْصُرَكَ مَن عَرَفْنَا طِيبَا

    If you are the brilliant poet,

    Then your partner we have known as good,

  29. كَيْفَ العفافُ منْجِباً والمَجدُ

    فِعش وعاشتْ عِرسُكَ المُنيرَهْ

    How can chastity be brought forth and prosperity?

    Live in prosperity, you and your shining wedding,

  30. في نِعْمةٍ سَابغةٍ وَفِيرَهْ

    إِنَّ الصَّفَاءَ للرِّقاءِ وَعْدُ

    In abundant and copious blessing.

    Indeed, purity is the promise of happiness.

  31. وَلْتَكُنِ الدَّارُ الَّتِي ابْتَنَيْتُمَا

    دارَ السَّعَادَةِ الَّتِي ابْتَغَيتُما

    Let the house you built

    Be the house of happiness you sought.

  32. زِينتُهَا مَالٌ زَكَا وَوِلْدُ

    Its adornment lawful money and children.
