These are the lofty mountain peaks

    Ascending into the azure dome

    The towering turbans, purest white

    Exquisite garments, emerald robes

O beauty of the rugged sands

    And valleys full of song

    And dwellings painted red

    Rising to the heights sublime

And lines across the desert vast

As if a maiden's braids they traced

And patterns strewn across the wild

Each image clear for eyes beguiled

And waters pure within this place

Now stilled, now turning, undulant grace

    Meandering through gardens fair

    Jewels hid, jewels bare

And winds that cure all pains

And heal the sick, grant health again

    As stars of Gemini's constellation

    Seeking night's recitation

    In playgrounds scented, aired

    For soul and fancy flared

    Wellspring of thought and intellect

    For song and verse collect

O homeland, for which blood we shed

    True souls their fealty pledge

    Fortunate, the one who comes

    Close again, when distant roamed

If I weep for bliss supreme

Yearning's ache drew tears, it seems
