Your pure, sincere call untainted by affectation

And praise be, pure and free of insincerity

O you of white hands, how much right upon me

Is yours, of faithful loyalty around my neck

Who can thank you enough for the easiest gift

You brought of pistachios and of syrup

Of a fruit, few can rival it

In its kind, in taste and fragrance

And of a healing, assuaging nectar, I felt secure with it

From Layla's worries and the sleeplessness of night

When we drink the chosen wine of the beloved, the dawn shone for us

    At nightfall

And he said in the transmission, he who sits with us

Is of our making in temperament and ethics
