صَفِيَّةَ الطُّهْرِ آتَاكَ الجِهَادُ حِلىً

لَمْ تُؤْتِهَا فِي الْخُدُورِ الأَنْفُسُ السُّقَمُ

The jihad has granted you the adornment of purity,

Which corrupted souls could not attain in seclusion.

إِذَا الْقُلُوبُ إِلَى ذَاكَ الْجَلالِ رَنَتْ

فِلِلْمُنَى أَعْيُنٌ تُغْضِي وَتَحْتَشِمُ

When hearts aspire to that majesty,

Eyes become downcast and humble for death.

قَدْ كُنْتِ قُدْوَةَ رَبَّاتِ الْجَمَالِ بِمَا

أَزَلْتِ مِنْ زَهْمِ قَوْمٍ سَاءَ مَا وَهَمُوا

You were an exemplar of graceful ladies through

Removing the delusions of a misguided people.

فَصَانَتِ الأَوْجُهَ الْحُسْنَى فَضَائِلُهَا

مِنْ حَيْثُ أُلْقِيَتِ الأَسْتَارُ واللُّثُمُ

Her virtues guarded the beautiful faces

When the veils and kisses were discarded.

لَكِ الْبَقَاءُ وَفِي مِصْرَ العَزَاءَ بِهِ

حُمَاتُهَا شَرَعٌ فِي الذَّوْدِ وَالحُرَمُ

For you is eternity in the land of consolation,

Protected by its laws of chastity.

وَلْيَزْهَرِ الْفَرْقَدُ الْبَاقِي إِذَا حَجَبَتْ

رَفِيقَهُ غَمَرَاتُ الْغَيْبِ وَالسُّدُمُ

May your shining companion blossom

When the clouds of absence and blindness dissipate.

أَمَا تُخَفِّفُ عَنِكِ الْحُزْنَ تَأْسِيةٌ

وَالحُزْنُ فِي أُمَمٍ جَمْعَاءَ مُقْتَسَمُ

Does not the shared sorrow of entire nations

Lessen the burden of grief upon you?
