مَنْ بَذْلُهُ بَذْلُ الشْبَابِ

فِي نَجْدَةِ الَوَطَنِ المُصَابِ

Those who sacrifice their youth

To aid their afflicted homeland

هُمْ مِنْ عَوَامِلِهِ إِذَا

شُرِعَتْ بِأَمْكِنَةِ الحِرَابِ

Are its pillars when

The spears of war are wielded.

وَهُمُ الأَسَا لِجِرَاحِهِ

إِنْ عَضَّه دَهْرٌ بِنَابِ

They are the balm for its wounds

Should time wound it with its fangs.

وَهُمُ المُقِيلُو جَدِّهِ

بِالعَزْمِ حِينَ الجَدُّ كَابِ

They are its bulwark

With resolve when duty calls.

دُونَ النَّضارَةِ في المُحَيّ

ا وَالغَضَاضَةِ فِي الإِهَابِ

Without the bloom of youth

Or the down of puberty.

دُوْنَ الْرَشَاقًةِ في المَعَاطِفِ

وَالأَنَاقَةِ في الثِّيابِ

Without the slenderness of their cloaks

Or the elegance of their attire.

كَمْ مِنْ مَحَاسِنَ في نُفُو

سِهِمُ الأَبِيَّاتِ الصِّلاًّبِ

How many virtues are in their staunch souls

Aspiring through them to the noblest goals.

تِلْكَ النُّفوسُ الطَّامِحَا

تُ بِهِمْ إلى أَسْنَى طِلاَبِ

Shunning desires

And its painful pursuits.

أَلصَّادِفَاتِ عَنِ الهَوَا

نِ وَعَنْ مَوَارِدِهِ العِذَابِ

Looking to the heights,

Enduring agony with patience.

أَلنَّاظِرَاتُ إلى علٍ

أَلصَّابِرَاتُ عَلَى العَذَابِ

Going to battle

With no hesitation.

أَلذَّاهِبَاتُ إلى الكِفَا

حِ وَلاَ تَرَدُّدَ في الذَهَابِ

Aspiring to redemption

Between valor and play.

أَلرَّاقِيَاتِ إلى الفِدَى

بَيْنَ المَجَانَةِ وَاللَّعَابِ

Egypt’s youth are today

In its days the decisive discourse.

فِتْيَانَ مِصْرُ اليَوْمُ فِي

أَيَّامِهَا فَصْلُ الخِطَابِ

We call upon you and hope

إِنَّا لَنَدْعُوكُمْ وَنَطْ

مَعُ في الْجَمِيل مِنَ الجَوَابِ

For the best response.

We wish the face of truth

وَنَوَدُّ أَنْ يُجْلَى لَكُمْ

مِنْ أَمْرِكُمْ وَجْهُ الصَّوَابِ

To be revealed to you in your matter.

The sincerity of advice is the best

صِدْقُ النَّصيحَةِ خَيْرُ مَا

يُهْدِي المَشِيبُ إلى الشَّبَابِ

That old age guides youth.

Not every victory for the country

مَا كُلُّ نَصْرٍ لِلبِلاَ

دِ جَنَى الطِّعَانِ أَوِ الضِّرَابِ

Is won by the spear or the sword.

Opinion prevails

أَلرَّأْيُ أَمْضَى في سِدَا

دِ ثُغُورِهَا وَالسَّيفُ نَابِ

In fortifying its breaches.

In proportion to how its virtues thrive

وَبِقَدْرِ مَا تَرْبُو فَضَا

ئِلُ نَشْئِهَا فَالمَجْدُ رَابِ

Glory flourishes.

Cultivate souls

رُوضُوا النُّفُوسَ عَلَى الحِسَا

بِ فَلاَ نَجَاحَ بِلاَ حِسَابِ

Through discipline, for there is no success without it.

And recognize the merit of cooperation

وَتَبَيَّنوا فَضْلَ التَّعا

وُنِ مِنْ مَرَافِقِهِ الرِّغَابِ

Despite its difficulties.

One whose nature is inclined

لاَ يَعْتَلِلْ مَنْ لَمْ يَسِرْ

قَصْداً بِأَنَّ الطبْعَ آبِ

To weakness cannot rise above it.

So the sensible one strengthens

فَمِنَ السَّجايَا مَنْ يُقَوِّ

مُهُ اللَّبِيبُ بِالاِكْتِسَابِ

Him through exertion.

Is your land a home for you

هَلْ أَرْضكُمْ وَطَنٌ لَكُمْ

وَالرِّزْقُ عَنْهَا في اغْتِرَاب

While sustenance is hard to obtain from it?

Never shall the state of a people improve

هَيْهَاتَ تَحْسُنُ حَالُ قُوْ

مٍ وَالصِّناعَةُ في يَبَابِ

When industry is in ruin.

Do not refrain from opening

لاَ تُحْجِمُوا عَنْ فَتْحِ بَا

بٍ لِلمَنَافِعِ بَعْدَ بَابِ

A door to benefits after the door.

The homelands complain

تَشْكُو الدِّيَارُ خَصَاصَةً

وَالتِّبرُ مِنْهَا في التُّرَابِ

Of scarcity though treasure lies in the soil.

And the intelligence of its inhabitants

وَذَكَاءُ أَهْلِيَهَا قَدِيم

اً جَاءَ بِالعَجَبِ العُجَابِ

Was of old a wonder and marvel.

Give your tithes

آتُوا زَكَاتَكُمُ فَفِي

هَا البِرُّ مَزْدَوِجُ الثَّوَابِ

For in them goodness has double reward.

We forbid you from ill-gotten gain

نَاهِيكُمُ بِالغُنْمِ مِنْ

غُنْمِ وَبِالشَّرَفِ اللُّبَابِ

And enjoin noble-mindedness.

Yesterday you would not dare

بِالأَمْسِ كُنْتُمْ لاَ تُبَا

لُونَ الشِّدَادَ مِنَ الصِّعابِ

The firm trials.

Today pathways stretched before you

وَاليَوْمَ نُصْبَ عُيُونِكُمْ

سُبُلٌ مُمَهَّدَةُ العِقَابِ

And the destination is clear.

There is no doubt

وَضَحَ المَصِيرُ وَلَيْسَ فِي

حُسْنِ المَصِيرِ مِنَ ارتِيَابِ

About the good end.

Youth of Egypt, onwards

قِتْيَانَ مِصْرَ إلى الأَمَا

مِ فَفِي التَّخلُّفِ أَيُّ عَابِ

For there is no glory in lagging behind.

Egypt’s hopes in you are great

آمَالُ مَصْرَ بِكُمْ كِبَا

رٌ وَالْمَفَاخِرُ في ارْتِقَابِ

And the glories anticipated.

Respond to the call and beware

لَبُّوا النِّدَاءَ وَحَاذِرُوا

عُقْبَى التَّنَابُذِ وَالتَّنَابِي

Of division and discord.

For if you do, the One

فَإِذَا فَعَلْتُمْ فالَّذِي

في الغَيْبِ شَفَّافُ الحِجَابِ

Behind the veil sees all.

That will be the great victory

ذَاكُمْ هُوَ الفَتْحُ العَزِي

زُ بِيُمْنِ فَاتِحِةِ الكِتَابِ

With the opening verses of His Book.

We shall face blessings through it

نَسْتَقْبِلُ النُّعمَى بِهِ

وَالعَيْشُ مُخْضَرُّ الجَنَابِ

And life will bloom.

Knowledge will be exalted

وَالعِلمُ مَرْفُوعُ الذُّرَى

وَالفَنُّ مَعْمُورُ الرِّحَابِ

And art populated in its expanse.
