مِثَالِي هَذَا مُنْبِئٌ عَنْ سَرِيرَتِي

شَهَادَتُهُ حَقٌّ عَلَيَّ مُبِينُ

This example of mine reveals my innermost thoughts

Its testimony about me is clear and evident

حَبَوْتَ بِهِ خِلاًّ يُوَفِّي بِصَوْتِهِ

كَرَامَةَ وُدِّي وَالوَفِيُّ أَمِينُ

You have adorned it with a tattoo that sings with its voice

A sign of my affection, and the loyal one is trustworthy

مَشَى النُّورُ فِيهِ وَالظِّلالُ تَحَفُّهُ

صَوَادِقَ فِي التَّشْبِيهِ لَيْسَ تَمِينُ

Light has walked in it, and shadows wrap around it

Truthful in its metaphor, not pretentious

دَمِي مِنْهُ يَجْرِي فِي الغُصُونِ وَمُهْجَتِي

يُحَسُّ لَهَا تَحْتَ السُّكُونِ حَنِينُ

My blood flows through its branches, and my passion

Can be felt beneath the stillness, yearning
