نُهَنِيءُ أُسْتَاذَنَا عَادِلاً

ونَقْضِي بإِكْرَامِهِ مَا وَجَبْ

We congratulate our honored teacher

And fulfill what he deserves through generosity

تَفَرَّدَ بَيْنَ بَني عَصْرِهِ

بِفَضْلٍ أَعَزَّ لِسَانَ الْعَرَبْ

He excelled amongst the sons of his time

With virtue that honored the Arab tongue

وكَانَ كَفِيّاً بِمَنْظُومِهِ

وَمَنْثُورِهِ لِفُحولِ الأَدَبْ

He was sufficient with his poetry

And prose for the masters of literature

فَجَاءَ بَدِيعَ الزَّمَانِ وَحَسْبَ

الْبَدِيعُ إِذَا مَا إِلَيْهِ انْتَسَبْ

So he came, the uniqueness of time and lineage

The excellent one when to him one attributes
