1. هُوَ يَوْمٌ أَغَرُّ مُبْتَسِمٌ

    عَنْ وُجُوهٍ بِالبِشْرِ غُرَّانِ

    It is a radiant, smiling day

    With faces glowing with good news.

  2. رَضِيَ المَجْدُ أَنْ تُزَفَّ بِهِ

    بِنْتُ تُومَا إِلَى ابْنِ زَيْدَانِ

    Glory is pleased that Ibtisam

    Daughter of Touma is wed to Ibn Zaydan.

  3. وَرْدَةٌ خَيْرُ وَرْدَةٍ نَبَتَتْ

    نَبْتَ حُسْنٍ فِي خَيْرِ بُسْتَانِ

    A rose, the best of roses grown

    In beauty’s best garden.

  4. ذَات وجْهٍ يَبْدُو الذَّكَاءُ بِهِ

    وَقَوَامٍ كَنَاعِمِ الْبَانِ

    A face intelligent, slender frame

    As smooth as cream.

  5. بِنْتُ ذَاكَ الَّذِي مَفَاخِرُهُ

    خَلَّدَتْ ذِكْرَهُ لأَزْمَانِ

    Daughter of one whose glories

    Live through ages.

  6. كَانَ مِلْءَ العُيُونِ مَحْمَدَةً

    فَهْوَ حَيٌّ بِكُلِّ إِنْسَانِ

    He filled all eyes with longing,

    And lives in every soul.

  7. وَ إِمِيلُ زَيْنُ الشَّبَابِ إِذَا

    مَا ازْدَهَى مَوْطِنٌ بِشُبَّانِ

    Emile is youth’s finest,

    When a place thrives with youth.

  8. جَامِعُ النُّبْل وَالنُّبُوغِ إِلَى

    فَضْلِ عِلْمٍ وَحُسْنِ تِبْيَانِ

    Uniting nobility and brilliance

    To excellence of knowledge and eloquence of tongue.

  9. نَجْلُ ذَاكَ الَّذِي فَضَائِلُهُ

    أَنْزَلَتْهُ فِي أَوْجِ كِيوَانِ

    Son of one whose virtues

    Placed him atop the highest pinnacle.

  10. أَرَّخَ الشَّرْقَ فَهْوَ عَالِمُهُ

    وَهْوَ مُعْطِيهِ عُمْرَهُ الثَّانِي

    He gave the East its history,

    And his second life.

  11. هَكَذَا يَحْسُنُ القِرَانُ وَقَدْ

    وَازَنَتْهُ العُلَى بِمِيزَانِ

    So chastely sounds their pairing,

    Balanced by the exalted scale.

  12. يَا عَرُوسَانِ تَمَّ سَعْدُكُمَا

    لا يُشَبْ تِمُّهُ بِنُقْصَانِ

    O newlyweds, your joy is complete,

    Flawless, perfect.
