God has signs in creation, and the best is

Renewing its splendor with each renewal

Free, noble souls answering the summons

Only for the qualified in knowledge and manners

    Yearning for boundless virtue

Let each daring soul gain a free life

And seek his own path in the land like thunder

    Exceeds mortality with undying fame

To life, redeeming those who pay its price

Until he won empowerment and aid

Such is life, and jihad in proportion to it

    Who ransoms it is ransomed

Idolatry gained followers to strengthen it

    In every fading land, consolidating

The ignorant pleased only with God as their slave

In idols of their own making

Obstinate in their divisions, their deliberations

Descend only to discord and disarray

Their dispersed tribes cry out in the wilderness

    Like camels wailing in wastelands

The banner of their leader, warped and twisted

With what patience to dispel ignorance of the confident?

What resolve to humble the hunters?

Indeed a sign of truth, though opposed

Taming two intractable clans with their creed

    And their unity after idolatry

    Beginning rule by consultation, perfecting

What Allah willed of justice and kindness

This is the truth, affirmed by consensus

Who can refute it but the disputant?

Wretched is the saying, “a people not to be reckoned”

Laziness and the years have been too long

The days fly by, never to return

    “My people, darken!” Act, persevere!

No people have cherished justice but thrived

And disregard the feet bound in chains

Guiding with wisdom, each difficulty resolved

Benefit for all creation, far and wide
