يَا فَتَى الفِتْيَانِ أَحْسَنْتَ البَلاَءْ

فِي المُبَارَاةِ وَحَقَّقتَ الرَّجَاءْ

O youth among youths, you have excelled in ordeal

And attained hope in competition

وَأَرَيْتَ الغَرْبَ مَا بِالشَّرْقِ مِنْ

قَدْرَةٍ يُبرِزُهَا حَينَ يَشَاءْ

And shown the West what power lies in the East

Whenever it wills to display

فَخَلِيقٌ بِكَ أَنْ تُجْزَى كَمَا

جُزِيَ الأَبْطَالُ عِنْدَ القُدَمَاءْ

So it befits you to be rewarded as

The heroes were rewarded in olden times

مِصْرُ مَا زَالَتْ عَلَى العَهْدِ حِمىً

لِلْحُمَاةِ الصَّادقِينَ الأُوْفِياءْ

Egypt has always been a protector

Of the sincere, faithful guardians

لِشَبَابٍ كُلَّمَا نَادَاهُمُ

وَاجِبٌ لَبَّوا مِنَ الفَوْرِ النِّدَاءْ

Of a youth who, whenever duty calls them

Rush to answer its call at once

لاَ يَضِنُّونَ بِمَجْهُودَاتِهِمْ

وَقَدِيماً لَمْ يَضِنُّوا بِالدِّمَاءْ

They do not stint their efforts

Nor did they once stint their blood

وَلَهُمْ فِي الذَّوْدِ عَنْ أَوْطَانِهِمْ

وَقَفَاتُ الصَّابرِينَ البُسَلاءْ

And they have in defending their homelands

The stands of the steadfast, valiant ones

لَمْ تَفِتْهُمْ وَالْمَنَايَا دُونَهَا

نُصْرَةُ الحَقِّ بِعَزْمٍ وَإبَاءْ

The deaths before them did not make them forget

Defending truth with resolve and refusal

أَثْبَتُوا أَنَّهمُ إِنْ دُرِّبوا

صَالِحَ التَّدْرِيبِ جَدَّ الأَقْوِيَاءْ

They proved that if well-trained

They are most excellent in training, the strongest

فِي الرِّيَاضَاتِ لَهُمْ تَبْرِيزُهُمْ

فَإذَا اعْتَزُّوا فَلَيْسُوا أَدْعِيَاءْ

In sports they have their distinction

So when they are proud they are no pretenders

لَمْ تَنَلْ مِنْهُمْ مَنَالاً فِرَقٌ

غَلَبُوا فِيهَا قُرُومَ الغُرَبَاءْ

No teams gained any advantage over them

They overcame the choirs of foreigners

وَلَهُمْ مَا شَهِدَ الْخَلْقُ بِهِ

مِنْ ذَكَاءٍ وَثَبَاتٍ وَمَضَاءْ

And they have what all creation witnessed in them

Of intelligence, steadfastness and zeal

لَيْسَ بِدْعاً مِنْهُمُ أَنْ يَحْتَفُوا

بِالَّذِي شَرَّفَهُمْ خَيْرَ احْتِفَاءْ

It is no wonder for them to celebrate

What honored them, best celebration

لِنَصِيرِ شَرَفٍ زَادَ اسْمُهُ

بِعَزِيزِ النَّصرِ نُبْلاً وَازْدِهَاءْ

For the champion whose name was increased

By precious victory, in nobility and esteem

وَمَجَالاَتِ العُلَى شَتَّى فَفِي

كُلِّهَا مِصْرُ تُحَيِّي النُّبهَاءْ

And in all fields of sublimity, Egypt hails

The eminent in each one of them

أَيُّها الحَامِلُ أَثْقالاً بِهَا

كُلُّ صِنْدِيدٍ شَدِيدِ الأَيْدِ نَاءْ

O you who bears burdens under which

Every strong-armed hero arms would break

لَيْتَ لي مِنْ فَضْلِ مَا أُوتِيتَهُ

هِمَّة تَحْمِلُ أَثْقَالَ الْبَقَاءْ

Would that I had of the bounty you were given

An ambition that bears the burdens of eternity

دَامَ رَبُّ العَرْشِ فِي أَعْلَى الذُّرُى

راسِخَ السُّدَّةِ خَفَّاقَ الْلِّوَاءْ

May the Lord of the Throne at the highest summit

Firmly established, fluttering the banner, live forever

تَفْتَدِي الأَنْسَابُ مِنْهُ حَسَباً

نِيطَ مِنْ شَعْبِ بِأَسْبَابِ الوَلاءْ

Lineages seek repute from Him, a lineage

Bound in allegiance to a nation of might
