مَلِيكَتَانَا أَدَامَ اللهُ عِزَّهُمَا
شَمْسَانِ أَشْرَقَتَا بِاليُمْنِ فِي آنِ
Our two angelic rulers, may God perpetuate their glory,
Two suns that rose auspiciously in Yemen one blessed day,
يَوْمُ سَعِيدٌ جَلا لِلحَاشِدِينَ بِهِ
أَسْنَى الرَّوَائِعَ مِنْ حُسْنٍ وَإِحْسَانِ
A day of joy for all who gathered on it,
The finest of maidens graced it with beauty and kindness,
فِي مَوْكِبٍ مِنْ أَمِيرَاتِ الحِمَى عَجَبٌ
بِكُلِّ مَا يُبْهِرُ الأَبْصَارَ مُزْدَانِ
In a procession of princesses a marvelous sight,
Adorned with all that dazzles the eyes,
وَهَذَا مِنْهُمَا نُعْمَى مُجَدَّدَةٌ
قُلُوبُنَا نَتَلَقَّاهَا بِشُكْرَانِ
This is a new favor from them,
Our hearts receive it with thankfulness,
يَا نُخْبَةٌ يَشْهَدُونَ اليَوْمَ حَفْلَتَنَا
مِنْ كُلِّ مَسْعَدَةٍ أَوْ كُلِّ مِعْوَانِ
O exceptional assembly witnessing our celebration today,
From every level of society high and low,
مَجْدُ البِلادِ وَأَنْتُمْ تَنْهَضُونَ بِهِ
مُوَطَّدٍ بِدِعَاماتٍ وَأَرْكَانِ
The nation's glory rises as you rise to uphold it,
Supported on firm pillars and foundations,
صَرْحٌ نَمَى البِرُّ مَبْنَاهُ وَبَانِيهِ
قَدْ بَارَكَ اللهُ فِي مَبْنَاهُ وَالبَانِي
An edifice goodness built whose builder
God has blessed, its building and builder,
أُقِيمَ لَمْ يَدَّخِرْ فِيهِ الكِرَامُ يَداً
لِلشَّعْبِ مَوْرِدَ تَهْذِيبٍ وَعُرْفَانِ
Established, no expense spared,
A fountain for the people of refinement and discernment,
لِلاتِّحَادِ بِهِ مَرْمَى أَرَادَ بِهِ
رُقِيَّ أُمَّتِهِ فِي شَطْرِهَا الثَّانِي
Aiming through it to further advance
His nation in its second sphere,
يُنْشِئُ الفَتَيَاتِ الصَّالِحَاتِ لِمَا
يُرْجَى بِهَا مِنْ صَلاحِ الحَالِ وَالشْانِ
To educate virtuous girls,
As hoped for their seemly state and stature,
وَأَيًّ نُورِ هَدىً فِيهِ وَظُلِّ نَدىً
تَنْمُو بِفَضْلِهِمَا أَغْرَاسُ فِينَانِ
What light of guidance in it, what shade of dew,
Saplings of prosperity grow in their favor,
حَمْداً لِفَارُوقَ مَنْ يُحْصِي مَآثِرَهُ
عِلْماً وَفَنّاً وَأَسْبَاباً لِعُمْرَانِ
Praise be to Farouk - who can recount his achievements,
In knowledge, art and means of civilization?
مَلِيكُنَا صُورَةُ الدُّنْيَا وَقَدْ حَسُنَتْ
كَأَنَّهُ مَلَكٌ فِي شَكْلِ إِنْسَانِ
Our king, model of the world, blessed
As if angel in human form,
بِحُكْمِهِ يَسَّرَ اللهُ القِوَى لَنَا
مَا لَمْ يُيَسِّرْ لأَقْوَامٍ وَأَوْطَانِ
Through his rule God smoothed the way for us
As never eased for other folk and lands,
فَلْيَحْيَى ذُخْراً لِوَادِي النِّيلِ سَيِّدُهُ
وَليَبْلُغِ الشَّأْوَ مِنْ جَاهِ وَسُلْطَانِ
Long live the treasure house of the Nile’s valley, its lord,
And may he reach the summit of grandeur and dominion,
مُؤَيَّداً بِقُلُوبٍ مِنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ
تَصْفَى لَهُ الحُبَّ فِي سِرِّ وَإِعْلانِ
Backed by hearts of subjects filled with love
Sincerely professed in public and private!
