يَا لَها مِنْ فَتَاةِ عِزٍّ نَمَاهَا

عُنْصُرٌ يَرْتَقِي إِلَى الجَوْزَاءِ

O what a maiden of honor she grew

Of a lineage reaching high into glory's stars

فِي بُنَاةِ العُلَى أَبُو شَنَبٍ

شَادُوا صُرُوحاً لِلعِزَّةِ القَعْسَاءِ

Among the builders of grandeur, Abu Shannab

Who erected palaces for the tawny-hued pride

حَسَبٌ زَادَهُ سَنى وَسَنَاءً

نَسَبٌ جَامِعُ السَّنى وَالسِّناءِ

Lineage sufficed him, enhanced by excellence

A lineage encompassing excellence and eminence

زَفَّ عَذْرَاءَهُمْ إِلَى كُفُؤٍ لَيـ

ـسَ لَهُ فِي السَّرَاةِ مِنْ أَكْفَاءِ

They gave their maiden in marriage to a mate

Who in nobility finds no peer amongst the excellent
