    Oh year we met

With our hearts filled with joy

    Remove the mark of misery

And bring the mark of glad tidings

To you with what has afflicted us

And the red tears that flowed

That after its turbidity they become pure

    The tears of grateful submission

Like the purity of soul after adversity

    Followed by its sorrowful memories

    Restore the paths pouring

    Goodness and righteousness

We are yearning like a mother

    When she suckles a drop

    And every tall tree lasts

In the shade of its palace

    On this hope passed

Our farewell to what has passed

And we bid peace to what is coming

    That captures the freeman

We held a festival of darkness

    Whose memory befriends eternity

To meet our year with tolerance

    Easy, gleeful tidings

    We adorned a beautiful night

With the light of grand decoration

We returned its clarity as clarity

And added to its flowers more flowers

And we made the branches dance for it

And we sang poems to it

That maybe some joy from it

Would compensate what misery has done

    If the former were miserable

Perhaps the latter would be good
