How can I repay the kindness of these good people?

Can someone who falls short make amends?

What gift compares to yours that we have seen

Glory was theirs before this gift was made

    My weeping wounded homeland

How can the divisive one build a wall

Between the souls of a mother's children?

From Carmel to Aleppo I found

My homeland, if eternal bliss were sold to us
