    You built Egypt's first treasury

With it the country's prosperity was assured

Can kingdoms in this world endure

    Without accumulating and storing wealth?

And can facilities grow in lands

    Where capital's yield is banned?

    Can anything urge endeavor

    Like feeling capable and clever?

Great is what you have done for Egypt's good

So who most deserves pride in the nation?

I saw your star was rising

As stars withdrew to their hiding

So live long to see your blessed work

And successive blooms, not just a first spurt!

You allowed a wish, so my heart rejoiced

Yet from you my eyes demurred

So my heart sends you thanks

    While my eyes apology murmur
