هُوَ فَخْرُ الشَّبابِ وَهْوَ الفَتَى
يَحْفَظُهُ اللهُ فَاقِدُ النُّظرَاءِ
He is the pride of youth and the ideal man
May God protect him, unique among peers
يَا حَكِيماً عَلَى الحَدَاثَةِ فِي السِّـ
ـنِّ تَقَدَّمْتَ سُنَّة الحُكَمَاءِ
O wise one ahead of your years!
You have followed the path of the sages
لَمْ نُحَدَّثُ عَنْ مُبْتَـ
ـكِرٍ مَا ابتَكَرْتَهُ فِي العَطَاءِ
We have never heard of an innovator
As generous as you in giving
أَكْثَرُ الجُودِ عَنْ هَوىً غَيْرَ أَنَّ الـ
ـرَّيْبَ يَقْفُو مَسَالِكَ الأَهوَاءِ
Most generous out of passion, though slander
Follows the paths of desires
وَبَدِيعٌ فِي مَأْثَرَاتِكَ دَامَتْ
أَنَّها مِنْ وَلاَئِدِ الآرَاءِ
Your great deeds will last
As they stem from wisdom’s roots
فَهْيَ تُغْنِي مِنْ فَاقَةٍ وَتُدَاوِي
مِن سَقَامٍ وَتَفْتَدِي مِن عَنَاءِ
Relieving poverty, curing illness
And freeing from distress
كَمْ نُفُوسٍ مَلَكْتَهُنَّ بِنُعْمَى
وَصَلَتْ مَا قَطَعْنَهُ مِنْ رَجَاءٍ
How many souls you have ruled with blessings
Reaching what they missed of hopes
هَلْ يَحُلُّ السَّوَادَ فِي كُلِّ قَلْبٍ
غَيْرُ مَنْ جَادَ بِاليَدِ البَيْضَاءِ
Can sorrow reside in any heart
Other than those who did not give a helping hand?
وَحُلَى العَقلِ فِيكَ شَتَّى وَأَحْلاَ
هَا لَدَى الأَزْمَةِ ابتِدَارُ الذَّكَاءِ
The adornments of your reason are manifold
Shining in times of crisis with quick wit
تَنْظُرُ النَّظرَةَ البَعِيدَ مَدَاهَا
فَتَرَى مَا بُكِنُّ قَلْبُ الْخَفَاءِ
You look with a far-reaching gaze
Seeing what is hidden in the heart's darkness
تَتَّقي الخَطْبَ فِي مَظِنَّتهِ وهْـ
ـوَ جَنِينٌ فِي مُهْجَةِ الظَّلمَاءِ
You avoid disaster in its origins
While it is an embryo in the womb of gloom
هَكَذَا هَكَذَا الرِّجَالُ أُولُو العَزْ
مِ فَعِشْ سَائِداً وَدُمْ فِي صَفَاءِ
Thus, thus are men of dignity
Live sublime and stay pure
وَابْلُغِ الغَايَةَ التِي تَبتْغِيها
مِنْ فَخَارٍ حَقٍّ وَمِنْ عَلْيَاءِ
Achieve the goal you seek
Of pride, truth and nobility
صَانَكَ اللهُ وَالعَرُوسَ مَدِيداً
فِي سُرُورٍ وَنِعمَةٍ وَرِفاءِ
May God protect you and the bride
In lasting joy, grace and comfort
