إِذَا مَا رَمَى مِصْراً بِضَعْفٍ وَحِطًّةٍ

غُلاَةٌ مِنَ الأَعْدَاءِ أَوْ جُهَلاءُ

When Egypt is assailed by weakness and abasement

By enemies who are tyrants or ignorant men,

فَكُنْ يَا عَلِيَّ الخَيْرِ أَعْدَلَ شَاهِدٍ

لِفِتْيَةِ مِصْرَ أَنَّهمْ نُبَلاَءُ

Then be, O best of goodness, the most just witness

That Egypt's youth are a noble people.
