حَبَّب الْفقُرَ إِلَيْنَا
مِنْكِ إِحْسَانٌ شَرِيفُ
Poverty has endeared us
Through your noble kindness
فَاشْتَهَى المُوسِرُ مِنَّا
أَنَّه عَاف يَطُوفُ
Thus the wealthy among us
Yearn for destitution to surround them
