    Aadilah writes her diary daily

Critically judging in her right mind

    In chosen and loaded words

Until she sees them as vivid images

    In concise, solid, clear sentences

Was her saying about an ignorant, thick girl

So-and-so is pretty but in her youth

    She's a withering, languishing bud

    If she moves, she's heavy

Like a rose that was overwatered

So it grew up watery and withering

And her saying about an old man

Who busies fond hearts with occupation

The face of eighty and the hair of youth

Isn't gray hair the jewel of perfect souls?

He never married, which is the way of a fool

Who ignorantly takes women for granted

And got nothing but the lowest demise

For a virtuous man is a virtuous wife

    As if speaking of herself

    Cultured, friendly, and sensible

    But she has no wealth

    So those jewels are false

The youths crowd at her door

And the caravan follows the caravan

As if she's a statue in a museum

That people continuously visit just to see
