بِاليُمْنِ قَدْ آنَسْتَ يَا سَيِّدِي

حَاضِرَةً أَوْحَشْتَهَا مُنْذُ عَامْ

With Yemen you became acquainted, my master

A city you left desolate a year ago

يبْقَى عَلَى الدَّهْرِ بِهَا كُلُّ مَا

خَلَّدْتَ فِيهَا مِنْ مَسَاعٍ جِسَامْ

Whatever great deeds you accomplished there

Will forever remain through time’s endless flow

ذَلِكَ فَضْلُ اللهِ يُؤْتِيهُ مَنْ

نَاطَ بِهِ إِصْلاحَ شَأْنِ الأَنَامْ

Such is the grace of God, granted to one

Who works for the betterment of all mankind

حَيْفَا تُحيِّيكَ وَهَيْهَاتْ أَنْ

يَقْضِي بِشُكْرٍ حَقَّ ذَاكَ المَقَامْ

Haifa bids you welcome, yet words can hardly

Repay the merit of your presence sublime

تُثْنِي عَلَى الشَّهْمِ الَّذِي عَاشَ فِي

رِبَاعِهَا مَا عَاشَ مِنْ غَيْرِ ذَامْ

You praise the valor of those who lived

Within its bounds, matchless through all time

فَمَا تَني تَحْمُدُ آثَارَهُ

وَتَحْفَظُ العَهْدَ وَتَرْعَى الذِّمَامْ

Thus you memorialize their legacy

And keep your vow to guard this paradigm

وَأَعْظِمْ بِهِ مِنْ عَازِمٍ حَازِمٍ

ثَبَتٍ عَلَى الأَحْدَاثِ مَاضٍ هُمَامْ

Make it your mission, unwavering, staunch

Steadfast through trials, this great paradigm

يَزْدَادُ لُطْفاً مَا عَلا قَدْرُهُ

وَهَكَذَا شَأْنُ الرِّجَالِ العِظَامْ

The greater his status, the kinder his ways

Such is the mark of the greatest of men
