أَمُعِيدَ الاِسْتِقلالِ مُكْتَمِلاً إِلى
بَلدٍ أَبَى الضَّيمَ المُذِلَّ فَثَارَا
To the restorer of independence, complete
To a country that refused humiliation and rose up
مَا اخْتَص لُبْنَانٌ بِمَا لَكَ مِنْ يَدٍ
شَمِلَتْ وَقَدْ أَوْلَيْتَهَا أَقْطَارَا
What Lebanon possesses of your hand
Has extended and you have given it to all lands
سَيَظَلُّ ذَاكَ اليَومُ فِي تَارِيخِهِ
أَبَداً لأَشْرَفِ حَادِثٍ تَذْكَارَا
That day will remain forever
To commemorate the most honorable event
أَبْهِج بِهِ يَوْماً يُجَدِّدُ عَزْمَهُ
وَيُوَحِّدُ الآدَابَ وَالأَوْطَارَا
Rejoice on a day that renews his determination
And unites morals and dignities
للهِ دَرُّك مِنْ دَؤُوبٍ صَابِرٍ
أَبْلَى فَجَدَّدَ أُمَّة وَدِيَارَا
God bless you, oh persevering pioneer
Who renewed a nation and its lands
يَرْعَاهُمَا وَيَسِيرُ فِي نَهْجِ الهُدَى
قَصْداً وَيَخْشَى اللهَ إِنْ هُوَ جَارَا
Guiding and walking the path of righteousness
With purpose, fearing God wherever he dwells
لاَ يُوْقِعُ الأَحْكَامَ إِلاَّ صَادِراً
عَنْ حِكْمَةٍ تَسْتَبْطِنُ الأَسْرَارَا
Does not pass judgements except with wisdom
That examines the deepest secrets
مَا مِنْ لَهِيفٍ لَمْ يُغِثْهُ وَمَعْهَد
لِلبِرِّ لَمْ يُخْلِدْ بِهِ آثَارَا
No desperate soul that he does not help
No institute of good that he does not establish
مَنْ يَعْدِلُ الشَّيخَ الرَّئيسَ مُرُوءَةً
إِنْ ذَادَ ضُرّاً أَوْ أَقالَ عِثْارَا
Who equals the Sheikh President in chivalry?
If he wards off harm or lifts affliction
مَنْ يَعْدِلُ الشَّيخَ الرئيسَ ثَقَافَة
وَكِتَابَة وَخَطَابَةً وَحِوَارَا
Who equals the Sheikh President in education
Writing, discourse and dialogue?
إِنَّا لَنُعْظِمُ فِي شَمَائِلِهِ الَّتِي
كمُلَتْ صَفَاءَ النَّفسِ وَالإِيثَارَا
We see in his traits perfected
The purity of soul and altruism
وَنَرَى بِهِ الكِبْرَ الصَّحيحَ يَرُوعُنَا
بالمَحْمَدَات وَلاَ نَرَى اسْتِكْبَارَا
And in him true greatness that awes us
With praise, not arrogance
حُلْوُ اللِّقَاءِ عَلَى جَلاَلَةِ قَدْرهِ
يُحْيي النُّفوسَ وَيُبْهِجُ الأَبْصَارَا
The joy of meeting His Eminence
Revives souls and delights sights
تَجْلو بَشَاشَتَهُ وَدَاعَةَ طَبْعهِ
وَيَزيدُهُ رَفْعُ الحِجَابِ وَقارَا
His cheerfulness and gentle nature appear
And his veil's removal adds dignity
هَلْ فِي المَدَائح مَا يُوَفِّي حَقَّهُ
أَوْ مَا يُكَافيءُ صَحْبَهُ الأَبْرَارَا
Can praises do justice to his right
Or equal his company of the righteous?
لله مَا أَبْلَى رِيَاضٌ إِذْ دَعَا
دَاعي الفِدَى فَتَزَعَّم الأَنْصَارَا
God, what integrity the President showed
When the caller to sacrifice led the supporters
وَمضَوْا فَإِمَّا المَوْتُ أَوْ يَحْيَا الحِمَى
حُرَّاً وَيَحْيَا أَهْلُهُ أَحْرَارَا
And they went, either to die or to keep
The sanctity alive and the people free
حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغُوا النَّجاحَ وَصَرَّفُوا
فِي الحُكْمِ كَانُوا الصَّفْوَةَ الأَخْيَارَا
Until when they attained success and assumed
Rule, they were the finest of the virtuous
فَلْيَكْلإِ اللهُ الرَّئِيسَ وَيُبْقِهِمْ
ذُخْراً عَزِيزاً لِلحِمَى وَفَخَارَا
So may God empower the President and maintain him
A dear stock for the sanctity and pride
