بناها للهدى خير البناة

وليس بمصلح للناس شيء

كزوجات صلحن وأمهات

إذا ما المأثرات غلت فهذي

لعمر الحق أغلى المأثرات

When virtues abound, this is

By the truth, the most virtuous effects

بها كير للس أرضى تقاه

كما أرضى العلي والمكرمات

With it the scholar is most pleased

As with the Sublime and the Blessed

فبورك فيه من حبر جليل

ومن راع نبيل في الرعاة

So blessed is the eminent scholar

And the noble shepherd of shepherds

ومن علامة لسن أديب

له في الفضل أبقى الذكريات

And the refined mentor

Whose excellence endures in memory
