دُخَانُهَا يُؤنِسُنِي رَاقِصاً
مُبْتسِماً وَالجَوِّ بَاكٍ عَبُوسْ
Its smoke comforts me dancing,
Smiling while the weather frowns gloomily.
آناً أَرَاهُ كالوِشَاحِ انْطَوَى
ثُمَّ أَرَاهُ شِبْهَ تَاجِ العَرُوس
At times I see it coiling like a scarf,
At others like a bride's tiara.
يَحْمِلُ مَا تَعْجِزُ عَنْ حَمْلِهِ
شُمُّ الرَّوَاسِي مِنْ هُمُومِ النفُوسْ
It bears what the smell of meadows fails to bear
Of the sorrows of souls.
