You rose like the sun with light and dew,

And you remained the sun of righteousness, O mistress of dew!

The sun may deprive the heedless of its rays,

But you did not deprive them of you, no matter the state.

For your auspicious arrival Egypt exulted,

And its gardens blossomed, its nightingales trilled.

I see smiles lighting up every face

That had faded in your absence.

Songs of glad tidings echoing in souls.

Throughout the length and breadth of the land

    Are loyalists, absent and present,

Each congratulating the soul for seeing

Your cherished return to the longing homeland.

The daughters of verse braided their hair

To immortalize her whom glory immortalizes.

And when the Caesar boasts of his two crowns,

They have a luster more splendid and lasting.

    Can some passing earthly trinket

Compare to the imperishable jewel of virtue?

It is fitting for the Nile valley to show its joy,

For what's within surpasses all that's displayed.

She whose station is rightly exalted,

Deserves the consensus of loyalists and foes.

Is she not the noblest of Eastern women,

In merit, rank, glory and splendor?

I send my greetings to her lofty aspects,

And her return echoes in every heart.

I speak for Egypt, its people and glory,

    Studying and renewing them tirelessly.

For every sorrowful and wretched soul,

Hope returned at the door of the princess.

For every anguished and fallen woman,

    She extended a helping hand.

For every graduate, skilled and learned,

She provided a place to excel.

And for the orphan whom she enriched,

Many became, through her grace, masters.

O jewel of the East, so noble

In the finest of ages, most glorious!

They call you mother of benefactors,

A true prayer, eternally on lips of glory.

You are their mother, and their princess -

Yes, yours are the world and its bounty.
