1. هَبْ أَنَّ قَلْبَكَ عَبْدُ رِقَّتهِ

    فَارْخَمْ وَأَعتِقْهُ مِنَ الرِّقِ

    Grant that your heart be slave to tenderness

    Then pity and set it free from slavery

  2. ولِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ بَاديءٍ أَجَلٌ

    حَتَّى النَّدَى وَاللُّطْفِ وَالرِّفْقِ

    For all things seeded have appointed terms

    Even gentleness, charm, and courtesy

  3. وَاعلَمْ حَمَاكَ الله أَنَّك لمْ

    تُرْسَلْ كَفِيلَ مَصَالِحِ الخَلْقِ

    Know that God shields you since you weren’t made

    Guardian of benefits for humanity

  4. تُغْنِي وَيُفْقِرُكَ الجَمِيلُ فَكَمْ

    تَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ مَكَارِمُ الخُلْقِ

    Though bounty enriches and beauty makes poor

    So reap humanity’s virtues abundantly
