روحي فداك وإن مُنحتُ صدوداً

أخفاك ما بي أم أطعتِ حسودا

My soul I sacrifice for you, though I am resisted

Do I conceal what is in me or obey the envious?

وأطوف مابين البيوت لعلّني

ألقى إليك وسيلة وصعودا

And I wander between houses hoping

To find access and means of ascent to you

وأعانق الأخطار نحوك والعنا

كيما أعانق غصنك الأملودا

And I embrace dangers toward you and hardship

That I may embrace your supple branch
