من الإماراتِ عنْ شطآنِ شارقةٍ

على الخليج تعالى صاعداً قمرُ

From the Emirates, from the coasts of Sharjah

On the Gulf, the moon is rising

يدورُ في فلكِ الآدابِ محورهُ

فتى عويسٍ وأخدانٌ له غُررُ

Revolving in the orbit of literature is its axis

A young man of Uwais, and cheeks that have embers

سمرُ الوجوهِ مصابيحٌ يطيبُ بهم

وبالذي شيَّدوا من وحدةٍ سمرُ

Brown complexions are lanterns that please with them

And with what they built of unity is brown

يستذكرونَ ذوي الألباب صفوتها

فيخلدونَ بما شادوا وما ادَّكَروا

They recall the people of intellect, its elite

So they immortalize what they built and what they commemorated

وكلُّ ما عندنا نحنُ الأُلى ادُّكِروا

منّا عليكَ سلامٌ أيها القمرُ

And all we have, we the intimate, commemorate

From us unto you greetings, O moon
