أَلَم تَرَ أَنَّ ذُبياناً وَعَبساً

لِباغي الحَربِ قَد نَزَلا بَراحا

Descended as warriors in the land of Barih

فَقالَ الأَجرَبانِ وَنَحنُ حَيٌّ

بَنو عَمٍّ تَجَمَّعنا صِلاحا

مَنَعنا مَدفَعَ الثَلَبوتِ حَتّى

تُرِكنا راكِزينَ بِهِ الرِماحا

خَشينا أَن تَذِلَّ وَأَن تُباحا
