1. يُعافي اللَهُ بَعدَ بَلاءِ سَوءٍ

    وَيَبرَءُ بَعدَما يُبلى السَقيمُ

    May God grant relief after adversity

    And healing after the sick are worn

  2. يُسَرُّ الشامِتونَ إِذا نُعينا

    وَيَكرَهُ ذاكَ ذو اللُطفِ الحَميمُ

    The gloaters rejoice when we meet misfortune

    But the intimates dislike that, forlorn

  3. إِذا أَصبَحتُ في جَدَثٍ مُقيماً

    فَكَم قَد غاظَهُ الجَدَثُ المُقيمُ

    If I come to stay in a grave some morn

    How vexed will be my permanent bourn
