How excellent the youth and the horses that descend into the hollows
The son of Ziyad laments to Al-Uqayli the assailant
So hush, you who lament the horses that descend into the hollows
And hush, you who lament the attacking knights
He was always bold in the field of battle
A shelter when the banners of the tents shook
I saw the steeds of the horses after you, stripped bare
And the saddles of the high-reaching camels removed
