مَن ذا نُحَمِّلُ حاجَةً نَزَلَت بِنا
بَعدَ الأَغَرِّ سَوادَةَ بنِ كِلابِ
Whom shall we entrust with a need that has befallen us
Who can we blame for this misfortune that has befallen us,
After the illustrious Sawadah ibn Kilab?
After the noble chief Sāwādah, son of Kilāb,
زَينُ المَجالِسِ وَالفَوارِسِ وَالَّذي
بُنِيَت عَلَيهِ مَكارِمُ الأَحسابِ
The adornment of assemblies and horsemen, and the one
The grace of councils and horsemen, upon whom
Upon whom the honors of lineage were built.
The virtues of nobility were established.
