    nor am I at all pleased with their headman.

  2. Nor do I forget what they did at Hajr,

    and, at al-Qasabat, their penning up of my pregnant she-camels.

  3. And if the physicians wished, they would tell me

    of a disease in their sick hearts.

  4. And how many a foolish oppressor I have fended off,

    and a scowling man given to objections in arbitration.

  5. My tenacity behind them is strong;

    once tightly twisted, I am slow to unravel.
