Al-Mustanir sold his father and his mother
The enlightened one sold his father and mother
For spurts of a she-goat's milk—wretched is the seller's gain!
For flocks of goats - miserable is the profit of the seller
You challenged me in defense of Barza and her son,
You have confronted me without Barzah and her son
O baseness, son of baseness, O false kinsman of the Balatiʿ!
O son of an ignoble woman, O frequenter of ruins
I forbade al-Mustanir's daughters to recite incantations,
I forbade the daughters of the enlightened one from performing spells
And to walk by night among the fields.
And from walking at night between the farms
And Mustanir the vile is nothing but a moth
The enlightened one of wickedness is but a moth
That plunged between the two raging, flaring fires.
Which plunged between the kindlers of the two great fires, shining
