الغرب مركبه البخا

ر أو الهواء أو الأثير

The West rides the wind

or air or ether

وركوبة الشرق الهجي

ن أو الحمار أو البعير

While the East rides

ignorance or donkey or camel

والدهر للرجل القوي

ي على صلابته ظهير

And time backs the strong man

with its firmness

والدهر يخذل من يني

والدهر يصفع من يخور

While time lets down those who covet

And time slaps those who cower

ولمن تقدم باسم

ولمن تأخر قمطرير

For those who step forward - prosperity

For those who step back - affliction

هذا يثبطه الحجا

ب وذاك يحفزه السفور

This one is discouraged by the veil

While that one is provoked by debauchery

وكأنما المتحجبا

ت بكل مملكة قبور

It's as if the veiled ones in every kingdom are tombs

Debauchery does no harm to those raised by culture

ما في السفور لمن تر

بتها الثقافة ما يضير

But the veil causes corruption and evils to spread

Why do those bright stars set?

اما الحجاب فمنه تذ

بعث المفاسد والشرور

It may hinder achieving our noble goals

Are you alone, oh intolerant zealot

ما بال هاتيك النجو

م على وضاءتها تغور

The circles of justice will eventually turn on the oppressor

On earth souls may perish but the sky does not change

ولقد يعوق من الوصو

ل لغاينا الجد العثور

Women were late so men advanced

Happier to travel

هل انت وحدك ايها

المتعصب العاتي غيور

to fulfill her needs she walks

Protected by her dignity

الدائرات وان حبت

مهلا على الباغي تدور

and chastity her guardian

Mothers are the source

في الارض تزهق انفس

اما السماء فلا تمور

Their children are their flowers

Mothers are stars

ولقد تأخرت الانا

ث فما تقدمت الذكر

Radiance and the son is light

Mothers are schools From them conscience grows

اسعد بام سافر

لقضاء حاجتها تسير

محمية بوقارها

ومن العفاف لها خفير

الامهات منابت

اولادهن لها زهور

والامهات كواكب

وضاءة والولد نور

والامهات مدارس

منهم بها ينمو الشعور
